Ultimately it will depend on what their objectives and timeframes now are; whether they retain the ambition to build a small-medium size O&G business in the medium term or whether their objective is now short term and its all about getting a return on their investment.

If their ambition is now the latter, then they might well do what you've suggested but I dont believe it is though.

Don't forget they can issue up to 144m shares without calling an EGM, so even if they have a depressed share price they can find a reason to issue additional shares to the management to obtain a return on their investment.

I agree that they may have needed the investment to list - however all I would add is that wherever the money is coming from, Eric Forss will be expecting a return on it which is why I expect the real business case behind the listing (which we have had no visibility of yet) to be robust

budget - I am seeing the involvement of Eric Forss as a facilitator to bring the company to the market, his investment will probably have come from one of his funds and not from his personal wealth. My concern has been that Matra are desperate for cash and could not afford $500k to cover the listing costs.

If they proceed with the listing and the opening price is low, then they are just doing this because they have run out of alternatives to raise cash. If the price is high they may have an acquisition in mind.

NedSadly - Highly unlikely any deal in place They have spent $5m and three years increasing production to a measly 900bopd.Hopeless Whilst paying themselves fortune in salaries and expenses .Vlad had already done a runner .Wait and see

I so hope your right budget ..... That would explain them being quite low key on the publicity front at present until they confirm any acquisitions?

My theory is that there must be an acquisition either as part of the listing or imminent otherwise there's no reason for Eric Forss to have got involved. And if that happens then Matra becomes a different animal and who knows what will happen to the share price then

We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one beggarman. This listing has been at least six months in the planning so when they agreed to do it, WTI was circa $45 and there was no guarantee it was going to continue rising. Eric Forss formally became a Director in October and put his $500,000 in and there's no way he's done that just to facilitate a listing and allow Maxim & co to bail out

The good news is that we'll find out the answer very soon

budget - If they list into a falling oil price the shares will tank on listing. I can't see them making an all share acquisition if the share price is sub 10sek. Perhaps Ted is right they have already done a deal to bail out and just need to get the shares listed.

A 10% variation in the price of oil is not going to jeopardise the listing. If the listing was that sensitive, they would not have even started the process

calm - At the moment the US is swimming in the stuff. The traders that were long on oil have taken fright today, that's why there has been a sudden drop. The prediction for the Permian Basin (West Texas) over the next few years, is that it will be the worlds largest oil producer (ignoring the rest of US production).

You may have read articles recently about major oil producers like Exxon investing heavily in West Texas. I would say OPEC is stuffed when it comes to controlling oil prices as the US will always increase production.

Ted - If there is no further news flow prior to listing and they list into a falling oil price, the share price will tank on listing.

johnny, Hargreaves Lansdown told me that they could hold them but they weren't sure whether they would be able to facilitate trading CDIs

Doxford, Matra were a week behind schedule with issuing the CDI's so you might be correct with your estimate of around 6 April for the listing on the basis the long stop date was 31 March

Thank you for your email.

I have looked into the progress of this share and unfortunately it still has not been listed. We do require it to be listed before we can assess its eligibility for our platform.

If you see that it does get listed, then please do get in touch and we can look into whether we can hold this on our platform.

I hope this has been of assistance to you. If you have any further queries, you may find our Help and Support centre useful, or feel free to contact us on 0117 900 9000.

Just got this off Hargreaves Lansdown, has anyone had more information off them? I`m sure somebody said they had been told there was no problem taking this on.

Ted
I would expect the shares to be issued sometime in March and trading to begin a short time after. April 6th would seem appropriate but who can tell anything with this lot, it could just as well be xmas day 2020 !

Superted. I had a look at the MATRA web site. Not a lot of info to go on so I have no idea what the MTA Mkt Cap will be when it re-lists in Sweden. I suppose Sweden is a good idea as between 2004 and 2007 Maxim Barskiy had a lot of success with Swedish quoted WSR (though an increase in the PoO during that time from circa US$40 to circa US$100 was no doubt the reason for WSR's success). Swedes with good memories of Barskiy and WSR could buy MTA and give the share price a bit of a fillip.

The web site says MTA produces 900boepd from 260 wells. That's less than 4boepd on average. Not exactly gushers are they!!
