The Jaeger menswear improved and MKS have far more clothing ranges than they have ever had, and that being the case I suspect online sales improving all the time.

Property sources have suggested to The Telegraph that M&S has been looking at 1 million sq ft of space in the Northamptonshire area, but a decision has not yet been reach

British department store Marks & Spencer is said to be eyeing up a “jumbo-sized” warehouse in the Midlands in anticipation of a potential online sales boom.

This is according to the Telegraph, which said that the retailer was exploring a deal for a new one million square foot warehouse, yet a firm decision for the property has not been made.

The news comes on the back of evidence that the company has been upping its capabilities among other warehouses, modernising locations through increased automation to handle an uptick in sales.

It has been spending on adding more automation to warehouses in recent years. Within its Bradford centre, which is among its largest facilities with an estimated 1m square feet of space, it built a new automated warehouse.

A spokesman for the retailer said: “Modernising our supply chain is a key pillar of our strategy to reshape M&S for growth, so we always keep an eye on what’s in the market, but this is nothing more than that.”

Another lacklustre performance albeit a couple of contestants fashion items quite good.

One of the contestants didn't even listen to the brief on comfort.

Chris attire Yellow and Pink outfit horrendous little wonder he was forced out in the first half of the programme, I seem to think I have seen him before maybe on a different design programme.

Katy and Sani did quite well with the shoppers saying they would buy the items.

The guy who stitched up the blue stripe attire also got praise.

Overall my feeling it was a mediocre viewing if you didn't have much better to view.

Just thinking MandS must have a contingency in place knowing the concerns of many about Ocado. The retail side of the Ocado business making apparently just 2.5 percent margin is obviously not covering the losses being incurred by the other part of Ocado. The question must remain as to whether they can survive until the online shopping reaches the level it needs to turn a profit? It would make sense and a seamless change for Marks to buy the other 50 percent which they would soon utilise with the potential online growth expected.

Every year online purchasing increases in an upwards trend. Christmas always shows a big increase which falls back in the New Year.But the trend is upwards.Covid messed with the figures but we are still in a general upward trend.Ocado will only grow in the years to come.There are plenty of online businesses that still don't make money, but they will.

Ocado Group has upgraded full-year profit guidance after its Marks & Spencer joint venture was boosted by a jump in customer numbers.

Ocado Retail saw revenue rise over 15 per cent to £658million in the 13 weeks to September, up from £569million by the same point a year ago, as active customer numbers soared 10.3 per cent to surpass one million.

It marks a recovery after weaker trading during a post-pandemic slump, with Ocado Retail hit by more shoppers returning to bricks-and-mortar supermarkets.
