Nigel Farage’s squad will announce a slew of tax cuts at the launch for their blueprint for power on Monday.

Reform Party chairman Richard Tice - who is running to be an MP - said: “Reform is the real party of the workers, who have been abandoned by ‘cafe latte’ Labour.”

Reform UK will promise to abolish IR35 - laws which critics say force self employed tradesmen like plumbers and electricians to pay too much tax.

The threshold at which you have to register for VAT will be lifted to £150,000 to free small businesses from red tape.

Corporation tax will also be cut from 25 per cent to 15 per cent over three years.

And people will only have to start paying income tax at £20,000, not the current threshold of £12,750.

Reform have enjoyed a huge surge in the polls after Mr Farage’s bombshell political comeback.

A shock YouGov survey out earlier this week put them ahead of the Tories for the first time.

They want to get a whopping six million votes in the election.

Party insiders said they reckon they can get up to six parliamentary seats.

I think I will probably vote REFORM the only concern is the French Insurance as against NHS. It could mean a two tier system however insurance payers getting priority. But the 20k minimum wage would help the lower paid and encourage out of workers to get a job.

On retail news TESCO says shoppers buying more and they state it is the expense of competition but I am not that sure, people have more money in their pockets due to pay rises and pay is increasing at 5.9% as against TESCO seeing a 5% increase in sales...

This shows how far the Tories have fallen, only up to last week they were saying a vote for reform was a vote for Labour and now the shoe is on the other foot..

Hi phil, my understanding is that high interest rates often mean stronger £ so importing clothes etc would be cheaper for MKS so make more profit!

Marks & Spencer holds prices on school uniform items for fourth year in a row


Marks & Spencer is holding the price of school uniform for the fourth year in a row and is also offering an extended 100-day returns period on the items.

In addition, it has invested £1 million in introducing dedicated school uniform advisors in over 120 of its clothing & home stores to support families with expert advice during the back-to-school season.

From 2 July, M&S will also be offering an additional 20% off school uniform for early bird shoppers for a limited time.

Alexandra Dimitriu, kidswear director at M&S, said: “Trusted value, hand-me-down quality and exceptional service sit at the heart of what we offer and this year, we’ve done everything we can to bring this to life for families.

“From our hold on prices to investment in school uniform advisors, no matter how, when and where our customers are shopping, we’re making the back-to-school shop as seamless as possible.”

MARKET REPORT: Bank's backing helps shares in Marks and Spencer sparkle


High Street favourite Marks and Spencer was bumped higher after HSBC encouraged clients to buy the stock again.

The bank said the turnaround progress being made by M&S is ‘too good to ignore’ as its popularity and appeal soar.

M&S, which last year returned to the FTSE 100 for the first time since 2019, has reported two years of sales growth across both its food and its clothing & home divisions.

Analysts at the bank said ‘this turnaround is more sustainable than previous attempts’ and could pave the way for shareholder returns.

Lioness Alex Scott in dream team tie-up with Marks & Spencer


BBC sports pundit Alex Scott has teamed up with Marks & Spencer.


The former Lioness is the High Street retailer’s first ambassador for fitness clothes as it hopes to entice more customers.

Scott, 39, said it was a ‘dream moment’ to join forces with the store.

‘M&S is such an iconic British brand, and I couldn’t be happier to be joining the team – definitely another “pinch-me” moment,’ she added.

After years of its fashion ranges being derided as ‘dowdy’, M&S has swung back into style in more recent times.

Sportswear is a growing area, including its own brand range Goodmove.

Sales of third-party fitness clothes have grown more than 200 per cent in a year, and it launched Brands at M&S in 2021 to woo younger shoppers.
