I watched a documentary about Shein a clothing manufacturer , possibly on All 4 (channel 4 catch up) and wasn't surprised to see they use slave labour to make all these cheap clothes. They're also known for stealing other people's work and mass producing it and selling it for cheaper - disgusting company..

Stock Exchange boss dismisses Shein backlash: Julia Hoggett shrugs off human rights concerns

The London Stock Exchange’s boss has dismissed a backlash against controversial plans for Shein to list in London – saying the criticism does not make sense.

Julia Hoggett was responding to claims that the UK risked becoming a ‘last resort for companies with poor human rights records’ if it opens the door to a £50billion float by the online Chinese giant.

Hoggett declined to comment directly on the company and criticism of its working practices.

'M&S bosses share £9m as High Street chain's recovery sparks biggest pay day in over a decade


In the clearest sign yet that its turnaround is paying off, last month it said profits jumped 58 per cent to £716million in the year to the end of March.
Marks & Spencer bosses scooped more than £4million each last year after its recovery sparked the biggest pay day for more than a decade.

Chief executive Stuart Machin – who has spearheaded the High Street retailer’s turnaround and its return to the FTSE 100 – was paid £4.7million.

His co-chief executive Katie Bickerstaffe, who is stepping down next month, was handed £4.4million despite working a four-day week.

Machin’s pay day was the biggest for an M&S boss since Marc Bolland earned £6million in 2010-11.

Both Machin and Bickerstaffe got £2million more than in the previous year.

Writing in the annual report Machin said ‘the financial health of the business is as strong as it’s been in decades’. He went on: ‘We have a clear plan, a clear vision for the future, and there is so much opportunity ahead of us.’

An M&S spokesman said: ‘M&S delivered a strong performance, attracting one million more customers, growing sales, market share and profits, investing in the biggest ever pay award for our store colleagues and paying a dividend to shareholders for the first time in four years.

It is correct MKS has already overtaken Waitrose and I forecast this a while ago.

On other news Shein seeks a £50 billion listing on UK stock market,,,



The actual listing won't make any difference, however Shein is already causing disruption to UK fashion retailers due to China manufacturing and low cost.

NKS has however changed it's face recently and their main competition is NEXT.

M&S rolls out 'elite' food scheme to 60 more supermarket stores across the UK

The supermarket scheme sees M&S bread - which is freshly baked in stores daily - turned into frozen garlic bread if unsold at the end of the day

Andrew Clappen, Technical Director at M&S Food, said: "When we launched this scheme back in 2020, we had no idea how popular it would become. We’ve had such a fantastic reaction from customers the more stores we’ve launched in. Our delicious loaves, baked in-store daily, really are too good to waste and to be able to repurpose them by offering customers a fantastic product that doesn’t compromise on quality while tackling food waste is what M&S is all about."
