09/5/2006 13:43 | GS I see my name is on your list, so thought I would respond. I've held MKD since it floated. Though I have bought and sold some along the way I still have a core holding, in fact I bought a few more last week. My thoughts for the short-term (1-3 months) are: 1) We'll get a formal offer to MKD shareholders for the 3 for 1 deal by the end of May. 2) We'll get news of financing for Khandiza by the Koreans. By the way, I think we'll get more advantageous terms from the Koreans than we would from UK Banks / Institutions. 3) We'll hear about the Turkish Project(s) in May. 4) We may hear about other Projects(s) (Ukraine??) We'll probably hear nothing about Akjilga, but I think MKD has pretty much written it off. Certainly they aren't spending any money on it now. The ball is in the Tajik's court and I don't see them giving it back! Akjilga to slowly, quietly slip away in my opinion. Intend hanging on to my MKD shares to the bitter end. That's my Tuppence worth, for what it's worth. Hutchoman | hutchoman

09/5/2006 13:23 | GS - I have been adding to my MKD holding. Shares & a cfd. Picked up a few OXS recently as well. Chip | ![]() chipperfrd
09/5/2006 12:36 | GS, Have converted and still holding. Still expect a deal which will allow Khandiza to go ahead plus priority exploration of the Khandiza lookalike prospects in the licence area. | ![]() pecker1
09/5/2006 12:22 | tee man - thanks for that, yes sense something brewing (see OXS announcement) MKD still a worthy buy given 3 for 1 deal still on the table, imo Silence from MKD/OXS is not surprising. | ![]() giant steps
09/5/2006 12:16 | GS, Holding OXS and MKD. Waiting to convert to OXS. When all is said and done it has to be the right thing to do as Ints and managment have converted (they are not stupid, there are reasons whatever they are.) Thoughts. It's gone very quite on news flow from the companies recently. I have reduce my OXS holding recently as I don't know really what is going on anymore and with the quantity I've got it makes me nervous. However, I kind of get the feeling that something big is brewing in the background so still hanging on with the majority. I guess the silence is necessary for deals to be done, but I just don't like it. | tee man
09/5/2006 11:13 | holding for the moment but only in the form of CFD. Expect it to be converted to more OXS in due course once re-integration completed. | ![]() polaris

08/5/2006 21:56 | I'm afraid I sold my last few MKD today. After 18 months of high hopes and little delivery I have grown weary of all the shenanigans. I didn't want to get involved again in OXS either, since I have lost confidence in Mr Trew. I'm not convinced that his confrontational style is the best way of delivering for shareholders. | ![]() drewz
08/5/2006 21:54 | After Oxus aquires all MKD shares, I think Oxus will divide Marakand into 2 divisions/companies. The Koreans would be financing Marakand Base Metals only. | ![]() cezary
08/5/2006 20:49 | GS. Sorry I've made a total mess of calculating the dilution we suffer when taken over by OXS. After I've calculated the dilution correctly, I'll be able to tell you exactly how much upside there is assuming 1. Koreans supply 75m$ of equity finance to build Khandiza. 2. All remaining MKD are exchanged at 3 for 1. and 3. JV is a 50:50 thing between the OXS/Korean combination and the Uzbek Govt. I suspect any big upside will have to come from exploration success, and having to share that with the Koreans sounds horrible. | ![]() nobull
08/5/2006 18:22 | nobull - recall, khandiza is one of several such projects (still huge upside) | ![]() giant steps
08/5/2006 18:06 | Cezary, is correct. I have received such a letter because I requested to convert, I am on the third tranch list, it has not gone through yet. I don't think anyone asking now can get on it, they might have to wait for a formal offer. | tee man |
