15/1/2021 15:19 | DPPManx - I have listed below the comment from JM placed in the IoM local news, it states a cash alternative?? The board of the Manx Financial Group has announced it has approved the introduction of a dividend scheme. It will provide eligible shareholders with an opportunity to elect either to be issued with new shares instead of a cash dividend or, alternatively, a cash dividend in respect of all dividends for which the scheme is offered. Jim Mellon, executive chairman, said: ‘I am extremely pleased that Manx Financial Group plc will return to the dividend list after an absence of 15 years. ‘This initiative both expresses the confidence that the board has for the company’s future and also allows us to reward our loyal shareholders with a tangible benefit for their continued support.’ The group is the parent organisation for firms including Conister Bank Limited, Edgewater Associates Limited and Manx FX Limited. | onchanman1
13/1/2021 15:54 | I think very few will be able to do this. Nominee accounts essential for an ISA rule such things out. Clearly the company wanted to retain the cash and give us shares but I am guessing very few holders can do it. Tiger | castleford tiger
13/1/2021 08:16 | Sorry to hear that, Toger - I assumed you held direct. I have a nominee account with H-L - as a result I don't believe I can use the script offer. | spangle93
13/1/2021 06:22 | Anyone else going to have the same problem and not be able to use the script offer re the dividend. Nominee accounts and as such ISA accounts do not count! Bit peed off with 2.8 m shares Tiger | castleford tiger

31/12/2020 12:37 | Hi, I have been looking at MFX and my conclusion is that it is ridiculously CHEAP! What newsflow can we expect in the near future that will hopefully lead to a rerate? | bsharman3
23/12/2020 19:10 | CT; Well I certainly value them much higher than they are currently - that’s why I originally invested. But obviously we need the market to value them much higher too, so today’s reaction a little disappointing. However as Spangle suggests, it’s early days re. The divi news and we don’t have the details. And as I said, I think the market is in wind down for the holiday so many investors attention elsewhere. | cousin jack
23/12/2020 16:19 | Cousin Jack How would you value a company with a NAV over 22p a share? With profits around EPS of 2p I used a basic metrix of 10x to arrive at 20p If we get 10% of earnings .02p on a 10p share that's 2% if we get 50% its 1p and 10% time will tell tiger | castleford tiger
23/12/2020 15:40 | It's hardly going to have an instantaneous effect. We're not going to hear firm details until the AGM, and last year the AGM was in late May | spangle93
23/12/2020 14:20 | Muted reaction to the announcement. Perhaps because market in wind down mode this week and if so then maybe a more positive movement to come in the new year ? However suggestions of a rise to 15 or 20 pence on dividend news now look a bit optimistic given we are barely above last weeks price ! | cousin jack
23/12/2020 12:12 | conisterbank bank lends to a start up in housing loan sector but is there not an existing lender with offices & staff & FCA authorisation that Conister could have lent to instead ? Conister itself or another part of MFX ?? me no understand ! | smithie6
