The pension issue ,is in a better shape than what it was 3 years ago, my thoughts this is not such a problem as what it was at all,and the markets now understand the problems better than what they did..when i bought in here it was a big issue 2 years ago,but that has been diluted by bigger profits and the co dealing with it..

Yes it does cellars, but merely pointing out the reduction as of the period concerned from £15.9m to £13.9m.
Macfarlane is far from being alone in this area and while there are companies with smaller deficits,arguably there are also for me worse situations.

Of course each to their own and for some I know a pension deficit is a detractor for investing.

Anyway, some thoughts that may interest other holders.

Yes, picked up Arden note earlier and added a few more on the dip.Looking decent value at these levels along with progressive div, cover in excess of 2.5x Another acquisition sometime this yr looks highly likely too.

have had a look at brokers forecasts for going fwd,they did make numbers for the year,i was wrong,going fwd all on tgt on the numbers ,still cheap on 9pe for going fwd maybe with growth coming from add on as well,looks good..

i think it must be the labelling to the super mkts ,,but that is the only point,dvd slow increase which is good and on a pe of just over 10.58 today,which is about correct,will be interesting on the new forecast for going fwd,which is more important..looks as if they are looking at other small add ons to the busines mix they have as well

hastings yes agree,i thought the figs slightly below forecats from the brokers? ie £200,000 but i maybe wrong,i deleted them last week...

Agreed, was impressed with both the CEO and FD last week.Not a sparkling business of course, but steady and a plan for further growth in a fragmented market.
