Down on comments today from Glencore about not receiving any serious bids for LMI. Not great news.

Wish I knew, holding shares underwater here, thought there might have been a bounce but instead it`s fallen further

Comment also made along the lines of platinum may not (on the level of opinion) start to recover meaningfully until the H2 2016.

There's nothing booming about PGMs though.

See smaller / longer term charts under the colourful one.

company is going great and the valuation is very low. we have fallen from 180p to 156p in a booming market just on the basis that a) glencore are never going to buy them b) some glencore shareholders might sell their lmi shares after May once they get them

Meanwhile the company is in play and can be bought out by somebody else.

They must have very close to 100 years of plat in the ground, so the value must be worth something.

I guess given 2014, you're all getting quite used to it though.

they may not have sold any shares but have effectively created a monumental overhang which has the same effect on the share price.

Salpara,

Glencore haven't sold a single share......

Classic mini pump and dump!
Sp rises on rumours that Glencore are going to bid for the business only to find out a few days later that it is in fact quite the reverse!
This way Glencore get to exit at 160 ish rather than 140 ish!

I think it is good news I wont be dumping my two or three extra shares! The fall in the share price does indicate a fear of dumping though at the mo. I remember PMO having two large shareholders and the share price went up on Petronas and Ameradas Hess exchanging their 25% stakes for PMO assets. Both stakes were seen as blocking a TO of PMO, of course PMO still haven't been taken over many years later.

Market is probably worrying about the dumping that will occur when the shares are distributed.

i think this is a logical move by Glencore (non core) and it frees up Lonmin for a takeover. Shares should be rising.

So Glen don't like the future for lmi. Where next for the share price i wonder?

Might make a take over more likely in the long run.
