Why was that letter not issued or averted to in an RNS ?

Many shareholders will not even know it has been issued.


Just further shady non-communication.....

I think it's wishful thinking on the accounts. The general meeting is first. They are being checked, but there is no Finance Director. They have just suspended him! No chance of the accounts this month now if Toby has gone.

Maybe, but £578k of directors' emoluments in 2011 was still quite a lot for a company that has no business. Lets see what it says when we get the 2012 accounts, if they ever get published!

Buchler gets a proportion of what is recovered no salary
There are no employees apart from the Board and as far as I can see the only salaried Board member is Toby on £126k including pension Notes 9 & 19 from the last accounts

The previous board were paying themselves £578k (including Toby)

This is another great excuse to delay the Annual Report and Accounts - can't see these being published until the Autumn now. I'm going to vote against most of the directors being re-appointed. It's a disgraceful state of affairs. No doubt all the arguments, will be good cause for a pay rise though. Translate "investigation" to "more time needed = great, more money"! Being a bit cynical, but not seen any good signs from this new lot.

Above are the type of comments that were regularly used by the supporters of DB to promote and defend DB in the Langbar episode. Almost word for word in fact and there are some similarities and lessons to be learned. His supporters were left with a pittance of a recovery compared with those who went a separate way.

Anyway, generally speaking I have always thought it is unhealthy to cosy up to management and rely on what they say during private telephone conversations. These thoughts often then make their way to bulletin boards and can create a misleading impression of events. Even more so than guessing what is going on IMO.

I think you can safely say that DB has to take overall responsibilty for this mess. Clearly if he was doing his job effectively, none of this would have happened.

In my view DB has talents and achieved things - but he is a taker. Probably no different than from the rest of AIM but in my view he is nothing compared with Keith Negal and his drive and determination. You can have all the expertise you like but it is pure drive and determination which achieves successful results in these situations. Not seen much evidence of any of that in recent times and if that impression is wrong then DB could have updated shareholders. Not updating shareholders (even if there is nothing substantial to report) shows a worrying lack of respect and no understanding of how to keep shareholders onside and supportive. No wonder splits always seem to appear whenever DB is involved.

There will be some interesting news in the update. There has been a lot going on in the last few months on the recovery front. I think there is light at the end of the tunnel hence the sudden activity.

I have been waiting a long while a few more weeks won't hurt. The key thing at the moment is to stay calm and try and keep the vitriol in check.

Buchler get E- for communication but there are times when you can't really say a lot as it will give the opposition a view on your strategy but that doesn't mean a quarterly "we are still here and doing stuff" would have been a great effort.

It is a shame really as I have a lot of respect for DB and have enjoyed chatting with Toby on my quarterly and more recently monthly "where is my money?" calls.

Probably best to keep the rock throwing to yourselves until the facts emerge to make sure you stone the right people. I was a bit surprised to see Toby and Gardin in cahoots but will wait to learn why

Never a dull moment when news does come.

I have heard the same about Toby Parker. Not sure about Gardin though and I guess we shall hear more soon. DB always seems to become involved in conflict as those in Langbar may recall and he received alot criticism over that.

The attempted takeovers by Littlewood's friends and the list of irregularities under the old management was amazing enough. Now this.

Keith Negal - or it might have been Dennis Bailey said a book or a film could be made about all this. Not far wrong were they?

I suspect Toby Parker is correct, as at least he has a solid past. The others must have been doing precisely nothing other than drawing a salary. This is just unbelievable!

Time to write-down our investment again, boys!

All very interesting. Who are the good guys here? FG was the villain of the piece - now reinstated? Toby P always struck me as a solid chap with LAC interests at heart.

So we lose two - and replace them with three? Costs?

Heads being cracked at home !! refer letter to shareholders on website - inter management warfare appears to have broken out !! Does not augur well and indicates dissatisfaction with contractual performance.

DB is not known for his regular shareholder updates but on paper has the expertise to extract some value. Not sure that his laid back approach is best for convincing others to co-operate however. Dealing with folks from that part of the world requires a set of special skills.

If I was running the show, the range of available options may well include cracking some heads.

Has there not been a single thing in the operations of this company in the last 12 months that has been worthy of notification or update to us shareholders ?? Given the situation we are in it is incumbent on the management to keep us informed. This is not a DORMANT company - it has investments that are operating and we should be informed as to their progress. The last management were rouges and without information we are in the dark regarding the current lot !!
