20/2/2012 21:15 | Something interesting has come up regarding Commodity Growth which readers will recall shared many of the same directors as LDC. Is there anyone here who is a shareholder in COMG. If so, please let me know. | loverat
20/1/2012 16:35 | Had a quick look at Companies House, as I tend to do for any private company holdings that I own - both the outstanding charges/mortgages have been satisfied - one on the 29/6/11 and the other on 17/1/12 - shows at least something is happening! | topvest
18/1/2012 10:29 | I emailed them as you were writing that...coincidence ! If I get a reply I will advise.. | unionhall
18/1/2012 10:25 | Loverat Sorry to hear about your accident. Speedy recovery. Totally agree with your comment about Keith Negal and Dennis Bailey. A great pair of guys. However, what can we do about Buchler? To say he is reticent is to put it mildly. Maybe he doesn't want to rock the boat whilst delicate negotiations are underway. The Chinese will wriggle all the way to avoid giving us our money back. Even so, I think we are due some sort of update by now. I wonder if anyone has been in touch with the company lately - if so, lets hear from you! | irenekent
12/1/2012 20:13 | Folks here just need to understand the scandal at Langbar. He gave loyal shareholders F all. But he gave those who opposed him nearly all their money back. The story is amazing. Research it. | loverat
12/1/2012 18:08 | GL topvest Looks like your're going to need it. | loverat
12/1/2012 18:03 | Personally, hope is not what I'm after. Happy to have no news provided we get some cash during 2012. | topvest
11/1/2012 21:08 | Well, that's the thing. This was always going to be difficult. Never an easy task but at least Negal and Bailey kept us informed. Their achievements were incredible and people are taking this forward with a view to stuff being published about their achievements. Where else on this market has there been a bunch of directors who have done so much to help their shareholders? Nowhere. Buchler has never kept shareholders updated. Not a peoples person IMO. A man in a suit. Keith will be remembered as a truly exceptional person who gave folks here hope. | loverat
09/1/2012 14:59 | surely we are entitled to some update on progress or otherwise after all this time !!! Its simply not good enough to totally disregard the many small shareholders who have been hoping that the sterling work done by the late Keith Nagel would bear some reward. | curt3
30/12/2011 22:33 | Sorry to hear of your accident Loverat - hope this gives you more time on the BB though. And best wishes for 2012. For info: New DB Consultants doc, link below. Subtle differences, but reward structure (section 4.3) remains the same. Best to all LAC shareholders for 2012. Rotors | rotors
30/12/2011 21:51 | Well, I was never a shareholder here but have such fond memories of the efforts Keith Negal and Dennis Bailey made to save this company. Is someone going to write a book or do a film? My son is into film making. Anyway - Keith and Dennis were a total inspiration and a breath of fresh air. You will never be forgotten. First directors I can remember who have been so determined and achieved so much. Happy New Year to all folks here. | loverat
16/11/2011 19:26 | What happens to Canadian wrongdoers.... B.C. regulator fines ex-chairman of TSX-listed China firm Michael Hu must pay $1.5 million in British Columbia for illegal insider trading in Maple Leaf Reforestation Inc. 11/16/2011 Dear Stockhouse Member, Yet another TSX-listed company with operations in China is in the spotlight after its former Chairman Michael Hu was fined $1.5 million and severely reprimanded by the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) for illegal insider trading and making false statements to investigators. A commission panel imposed the penalties after finding that Hu bought shares of Maple Leaf Reforestation Inc. (TSX: V.MPE, Stock Forum) in 2007 while in possession of undisclosed information about a biodiesel project that Maple Leaf was negotiating to acquire in the Xinjiang region of China. He is being punished for illegal stock trades that occurred between September 24, 2007 and October 12, 2007 at an average price of 97 cents. The trades would have earned him a potential profit of $381,510, BCSC decision documents show. News of the penalties comes just weeks after Maple Leaf issued a statement saying it does not endorse the target price set for its shares by "independent research provider" Marble Arch Research of Atlanta, Ga. The company was referring to an October 17th research report that sets a target of 27 cents for its shares, which were trading at just 6 cents on Tuesday, giving the company a market cap of about $5 million, based on 80.6 million shares outstanding. | unionhall
14/11/2011 09:38 | Thanks for the link Rotors. Interesting stuff. I have'nt looked on here for ages, just trying to suppress the hopes of getting something worthwhile back from this debacle. However, I guess we all knew the risks, at least up to the point of actually being fleeced, which we should rightly expect not to happen. Lots of fee potential for the consultants here, so hope they can make it work. Thankfully, I'm also in GKP in a modest way, but doing nicely. Good luck all. | ardiebo
14/11/2011 09:30 | Seems to be pretty clear about the fees.... Nothing for the first £2,800,000 whic is already available to the company and a sliding scale thereafter.... 4.3 The fees payable by the Company shall be equal to the following percentages of the value of all Actual Realisations and Accounts Realisations: (a) 5% of aggregate Actual Realisations and Accounts Realisations up to and including £7,000,000 (but not including the £2,800,000 available to the Company at the commencement of the Engagement); (b) 10% of aggregate Actual Realisations and Accounts Realisations over £7,000,000 and up to and including £15,000,000; and (c) 15% of aggregate Actual Realisations and Accounts Realisations over £15,000,000. | unionhall
13/11/2011 04:17 | I am not sure if David Buchler operates on a no win no fee basis. You're not one of the ex directors of this company who still has money tied up in this any chance? I only ask because of the tone and content of a previous post you made. If you are you can clear off and impose yourself elsewhere. Perhaps you can write a book on how Littlewood got away with it for years under your noses while you continued to advise private investors here to buy shares in this junk (despite your concerns in 'late 2006'). | loverat
12/11/2011 20:31 | Irene - I think you have to be realistic about this holding. For whatever reason, including maybe a criminal act, this Company is bust. David Buchler has been brought on board to salvage anything he can - and will be rewarded accordingly. No return = no reward. Simon Littlewood may himself have been duped but at present there is no value in this company. It has been a fascinating story of 'China value' - or indeed China corruption. Dennis Bailey is, I hope, writing a book on the twists and turns of London Asia; it will be a tremendous read. You and other shareholders (including me) can do nothing more than 'watch this space'. Best rgds, Rotors | rotors
12/11/2011 11:55 | irenekent - I suggest you ring the company. I did, and received generalised info that matters/operations continue to be progressed but slow. I made the point of course that shareholders would like some info and reassurance. | curt3
12/11/2011 01:02 | No way back then? (sorry I'm confused) | leuv3n
10/11/2011 07:30 | Has anyone been in touch with Buchler? What is he actually doing? | irenekent
07/11/2011 20:53 | topvest This is going to be another Langbar I'm afraid. Some will be rewarded to the detriment of others. Just like Langbar. Buchler I believe may have been appointed by dougcsv. Those two have been mates since Langbar. | loverat
05/11/2011 07:50 | Looks a rather low fine for that sort of behaviour, but good to see that it's been punished. Further evidence of what we are dealing with here. | topvest
04/11/2011 17:50 | Looks like the fat twerp is on his way to being kicked out of China. Good news - what goes around comes around. Lets see what happens to his fellow directors and supporters who encouraged the idiot. More news on that soon I think. | loverat |
