A0...you do make me chuckle. I never profess to know anything, but it is a hoot winding you up. My 2 year old son could wind you up, he is also a better trader.

Poor old A0 never fails to take the bait.

What sort of a weirdo is forever posting about a company he has no stake in. My guess is that he has never bought a stock in his life, the poor deluded old fart.

lol...I know that, but he has also bought shares.

Although he acquired this recent batch in the option scheme, he could have sold the whole lot for a nice lump of cash. What he did was sold the exact amount to cover tax and NI, which is entirely the actions of someone who does not want to be accused of knowing about the BT takeover next week.

I know you probably disagree, but my gipsy fortune teller Mystic Marketeero informs me that he seen the future while gazing at his crystal balls.

Rob, I think you will find from the news that he aquired some more shares for FREE and sold some for 129p.................as did all the other directors or who ever??

Which puts a different slant on things I think!

Jacko who sought advice...Just reading the recent company news. CEO, Andrew Green now holds 2.4 million shares in Logica. On the latest share price that gives him a £3.2m stake in shares. He has built on his option stock by also buying shares in the company.

Considering he hasn't made any disposals that in itself might indicate he is confident of the future.

I reckon what you really want to advice on is, do the posters on this board think Logica is a good investment. I think it is, but many are of a different view of not only Logica, but of every company in the FTSE 350. If you have researched Logica you will see the Buys outweigh the Sells, but to be honest that doesn't mean much.

As Selborne rightly said, government departments and many corporations have IT well past its sell by date. They say CLOUD is the future and Logica are a prolific exponent of CLOUD, so you might say they are keeping up with technology.

Also, as A0 has said we are still very much in uncertain territory. I can only add that if you are building a varied portfolio of shares with a long term view, Logica can still shine again, but they seem to be making hard work of it.

Well before going and blowing your redundancy money I would have a look at the ftse 100 chart from early 2008 to now.

In early 2009 it was well down.........that was the time to buy because now it's right back up to almost 2008 levels..................and not much has changed in the old financial crisis world that I can see so in my opinion it's due for another fall............... just take the news out of America..........political or not!!

If you are looking long term pick shares that are down.................... but not out.....just out of favour at the moment.

Or invest abroad like east Asia, China etc..................even, dare I say it Japan..............providing no more quakes then all the bad news is out!

Good luck.

Thanking you for your views. I am looking for captial growth and I although the dividend yeild is not great it isn't bad. I made a purchase yesterday when the market was well down. Unfortunately Logica stayed positive and for that reason I was slightly reassured. I have been redundant since February and start a new job after Easter, glad to say only spent a short while unemployed.

It is my redundancy I am investing so I am looking at the long term, I also have a few other companies I will invest in.

jacko07 - With a dividend yield of 3.29%, Logica is very much on the low side. Logica has always been strong into government contracts but results have not always been impressive. On the other hand IT systems within government departments are in a poor state and in need of improvement. Hopefully Logica will get a share of any IT work which becomes available.

Can any Logica investor tell me if the company is shaky on the government cutbacks. I am looking at this company and several others that pay a dividend.

Heard a rumour that Logica were in the firing line of a major UK telecoms FTSE 100 leader who want it for their IT arm. I am not mentioning the name concerned as it may be the same hogwash as we heard regarding Infosys. You can easily guess who without too much thinking....

The Logica share price is low and the company concerned has seen a big rise, so a paper bid doesn't look totally outside the box.
