01/11/2011 11:08 | Well if Jacko had read my post and acted on it he could have gained a bit back and sold at 98 or so.................t A good call if I say so myself! | a0502162
01/11/2011 09:19 | Jacko...I hope you got out, nearly 8% down in less than two days. I hate to think what Andrew Green will come out with tomorrow. I imagine he and the board have been concentrating on transferring shareholders funds into their pensions. Logica is the Greece of the IT sector. | robwt
28/10/2011 13:53 | rob, Have you considered coming off the fence and saying what you really think? :-) Had a wonderful experience with Logica while I worked for a government department (temporarily). Lots of meetings, lots of documents explaining what they were going to do. Lots of documents and meetings to explain what the delays were. Then more. Still not sure what they actually did, other than talk about it... | imastu pidgitaswell
28/10/2011 07:47 | jacko07 It's all in my above posting! | a0502162
27/10/2011 16:55 | A0502162..it seems to have made a slight recovery recently, do you think it is just following the market up. There has been no news coming from the company. They make a report next week and I am a bit on edge that Mr Andy Green will report more grief. | jacko07
17/10/2011 09:00 | Jacko07. Logica is not a good share to be in. However, as you are IN then you have two options. Hold and hope it goes up, or sell and get into something else that is a much better play. The problem with HOLDING is the RESULTS due...............al Buying something else is an option now or later...........you could have a play on one of the many good PENNY shares around that have bombed, along with every thing else, but are now showing signs of recovery. Low out lay...good potential. @UK.........Lonrho.. It's up to you! | a0502162
16/10/2011 12:00 | Sadly I have to agree, on the bear side ok for shorters and day traders, on the bull side, there are slim chances there could be a bid. On the appointment of Andrew Green as new CEO, we were led to believe he was going to be the saviour. It shouldn't have been that difficult, Logica only had to keep slim competitive and focus on the core of their business to organically grow. In the last 40 months Logica should have achieved 220p and in this shaky market fallen to about 175p. Instead the share price stands at a miserable 89p which is up from the 72p it hit last month. I was fairly bullish all through global worries from 2008 till mid 2011 generously giving Andrew Green the benefit of huge doubts after it was reported that Green was a major part responsible for the huge losses suffered by BT Global on his watch. He has now basically done much the same damage at Logica. It is appalling when one thinks of the millions of pounds this buffon has been paid in fat cat salary and bonuses. Green has proved a disaster, instead of culling the previous board he made little if any changes. He should have replaced 70% of the board with new blood and then concentrated on slimming or closing down the bad parts of Logica's fragmented business model. Instead Green did nothing, hence the already profitable parts that were doing well are now propping up the lossmaking parts. Elementary, you may think, anyone with a bit of acumen could of have sorted it out. Well, it was above Andrew Green's capabilities. The IT sector know Green's appalling leadership has decimated the company, but Logica still has some good people who have worked well in the profitable parts of the company. Keeping this in mind Logica look reasonably cheap. The share price is a fraction of what it was on Green's appointment and at these bombed out prices Logica could be a target. Jacko07..you pays your money and takes your choice... if you want to sleep at night, Logica is not the best place to have your money. Any company is only as good as people running it, so while Andrew Green is still in charge the company is very vunerable and is in unchartered territory. | robwt
15/10/2011 13:17 | Its atrading stock all the way downhill. | hvs
15/10/2011 12:52 | It was a bad day for me when I invested my hard earned in Logica. I am now sitting on a great big loss. I have done a lot more studying since making my investment and should have known better than to risk my hard earned in a company being run by such a terrible board. I did research on Andrew Green and I am bewildered as to how this man was appointed as the top man at Logica. He is clearly incapable of being the CEO of anything, I wish I had done more homework. My dilemma now is whether I sell my Logica shares and take what is a huge loss to me, or try and ride out the storm and hope the share price recovers. I am having sleepless nights worrying about what is going to happen in November, am I the only one scared stiff or do you old sage's on here have fears. The very mention of Profit Warning frightens me to death. A0....warned me to steer clear, what is your advice or any others who analyse this sorry company to me at this stage. What do I do now? | jacko07
14/10/2011 12:50 | One of the problems LOG has is it's margins...there just not there! | a0502162
14/10/2011 12:33 | I agree there are more jobs to go..but IBM and most other IT companies are filling a lot of the IT losses and weathering the storm with far more success than Log the Dog. Why have Logica failed to keep up with other IT companies. Bad management is the answer, hence the reason the share price has dropped by almost 50% since May. Nothing will change until they get leadership. | robwt
14/10/2011 08:55 | There will be alot more jobs go and not just at Logica, before this crisis is over!! What some of you don't realise is that the real crisis has only just started. Wait till America defaults!! | a0502162
13/10/2011 08:02 | I say trade it, forget it................ and move on! | a0502162
12/10/2011 18:27 | I say sub 50p | hvs
12/10/2011 17:53 | Rob - thanks for that. | skinny
12/10/2011 17:32 | Skinny..as you are ex-Logica I thought I would post this: I had very interesting conversation with an insider regarding Logica and it's woes. She said Green had been a major disappointment but added there is likely to be a boardroom coup in the near future, because there are others far more capable than Green. She also told me that many at Logica were very disillusioned with Green and how he is bringing the company down with weak leadership. An old but relevant link from 2007... | robwt
10/10/2011 17:52 | But regards to payments its no doubt across the PLC casinos...do you honestly think shareholders are told the truth and nothing but the truth?...milk it while you can.... | diku
10/10/2011 14:28 | Is Andrew "Green" Jewish ???? Just asking . They all do such a good job. vELLY velly CLEVER PEOPLE. | hvs
10/10/2011 13:31 | robwt - I know - I worked for them about that time. | skinny
10/10/2011 13:20 | Skinny, they did go to the moon in the Dot Com bubble. However it was a false market but good for the few insiders who got out and stayed out. The performance between 2003 and 2007 gave us the hope they were going to be a growth long term investment in the IBM category. However, instead of organic growth Martin Reed spent millions on very bad acquisitions until he was finally booted out as shareholder confidence hit lows nearly as bad as they stand today. Sad when one considers awful management at Logica has spent many times more on reckless acquisitions than the whole Market Cap stands today. We all had hope that the appointment of Andrew Green would see a sea change in the way Logica did business and he was going to really make this company shine. It never happened, as at a later date it became clear that Green had been in the senior part of the management at BT Global who had created huge losses. Losses large enough to kill that part of BT. If only, those facts had been known Green would now be doing the charity work he is supposed to be good at, selling the 'Big Issue' would be his mark. If only they had got the right man on board in 2007, Logica could easily be 500p today instead of penny share. Logica is a basket case today and I would advise people to steer clear, it is only for the brave and masochists. | robwt
10/10/2011 12:30 | They have been out of favour for the best part of a decade. | skinny |
