14/9/2010 11:11 | There may be some news we haven't heard. Seems like the rise from sub 110p has been due to solid buying but the shares go ex-dividend tomorrow, so the chances are we are due for a dip.. | robwt
14/9/2010 10:48 | Does anyone know why the rise today on share price (Logica.) nothing showing on news feeds. | brightontrader
02/9/2010 07:48 | How common is that? | a0502162

31/8/2010 15:21 | Dear Rob, Why do you always get the wrong end of the stick? Buying and selling does not make me short term................ The reason why I know how you trade stocks is because you told me............along with everyone else who reads your rantings on here. | a0502162
31/8/2010 12:22 | A0, I do not understand how you would know how I or anyone else trade stocks. I also do not understand why anybody else's profit/loss would bother you. Using childish chav words like plonker creates a vivid picture of you, a thick know all no nothing. Do yourself a favour and read Jim Slater, Warren Buffet or a lot of other successful plonkers and you will find they all have different theories. You are a short term investor, that's fine but it doesn't suit all. | robwt
31/8/2010 09:13 | Rob. The point I keep trying to make which you and sel keep missing is just this: You can, if you so wish, make a lot more money by selling not just holding. What you do is, obviously, buy low to start with, then when the stock rises you can choose to sell, or hold for dividends.(All depends on your tax situation). However,if you get news or see the share price is about to fall sell it. When the dust settles, and you still believe in the stock or like the divi then buy it back. Time it right and you can end up running the stock for free, well out of your profit anyway. But don't mind me, you carry on being a plonker it's far more amusing for me that way! | a0502162
29/8/2010 18:10 | Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. do you realy think so?? How exciting! A0, If you haven't got something interesting to post, why bother! Unfortunately, a few of the posts we get here on the Logica board have become similar to those doom mongers who were forecasting the demise of BP. As I get alerts from ADVFN, it proves disappointing when I find yet another inane empty headed post has wasted my time. Selborne, I wouldn't worry too much about the long term prospects of BP, the dividend will be back and all the rantings of a grandstanding Obama will be forgotten. | robwt

25/8/2010 14:46 | Thanks for your investment advice 'AO'. As a matter of fact if I had some spare cash I would buy BP shares. BP has provided me with very good dividends over the years and I am sure that good times will return. | selborne_edge
25/8/2010 11:21 | Well I hope you guys have at least sold BP!! | a0502162

12/8/2010 11:45 | The point is, imo Logica is a buy and hold. Good things come to those who wait! I traded and held ARM for years and eventually they came good, very good. I wish I had a pound for every negative report I had on ARM. ARM were a flyer and then became well out of favour much the same as Logica is now. Invensys is another, great trading share over the years, one minute looking good and then freefall, but that is what it's all about. Two sectors set to fly as recovery grows will be IT and Telecoms. I have to believe in that, because the charts in my head and gut tell me. By the way, Buffett has now changed his stance on technology, I doubt he has any Logica but maybe he's been put off by your posts. | robwt |
