David Tyler sounds like a man after my own heart, gets in and gets out quick with a nice profit. No point dweling on sentiment, do the business and move on!

According to the Logica webpage, David Tyler joined the board in November 2007. Hardly had time to get to know the Company in that time.

Google earth's fantastic don't you think. The detail you can find on it!

No pot of gold though.

Now I don't know about you but for a quick punt I thought I would buy into segro. On the face of it a tad early but then again...................don't think so..............some institutions have bought long and even some have call options at 35+ into September. Plus the offer shares..............seems OK to me.

Thanks robwt - I take part in the historical churches charity bike ride and frequently visit Selborne, the zig-zag path and of course the Selborne Arms at the bottom end. You just have to hope that patience in Logica will be rewarded. I will keep looking for your pot of gold though.

Selborne: I don't know if you are a resident of your namesake.

What a lovely part of the world, much nicer than my drab noisy City dump.

If you are, then take a walk down to Gilbert White's house to the 'ziz zag' path and you can be reminded of the performance of Logica while taking a stroll to Selborne common. When you get to the end of the zig zag path, let us know if there is a pot of gold. lol.....

I think that robwt would be far too young for that superb programme but I am certainly in the age bracket.

Best Wishes A050

A0, unfortunately the good steady plays are few and far between in these markets. Selborne is waiting for the surge which is on the way. 300p will be ok.

Dream shares are exactly that.........................a dream!

Give me good steady plays every time...........if one happens to out perform...............well that's a bonus.

I can of course 'blackcat' robwt by a number of years. You just keep on believing that one day the tide will turn and Logica will become a dream share. As they say; there is no fool like a old fool.

Share price stayed fairly stable yesterday compared with others. 9.5 million unemployment figure from the USA pushed the FTSE down over 100, Logica hardly moved until the end of day. I would think that you may not see these much cheaper before the surge. Time to buy a hundred thousand.

robwt.

Short, I aint!

Directors often buy shares................and afterwards the share often goes down. Good at running businesses but not so good at knowing when to buy or sell a share. Which is why he is still holding the share at 99p instead of buying more now!!

If he thought it was going to go up rapido he would be buying another 100k..........................I would.

The other thing is the financial sector has enough IT to sort out any mess and carry on for a couple of years.........so why the rush to renew? They need to get rid of the "bad debt" and government loans before any investment......................otherwise they won't be able to pay themselves any bonuses. Can't show a profit by spend, spend, spend!

Besides, Logica, as most shares, is a risk..............and as such will continue to cycle in a pradictable fashion..........no matter what anyone thinks it should do due to fundamentals, good or bad. Simple!

A0; I would say that there will be a surge in tech. It will be led by the Finance sector renewing everything. You might be gambling if you are are short because they will go up very quickly as the market gets on board.

Don't forget a lot of these companies have Market Caps at peanuts. Logica at just over a billion are valued at 50% less than they were in when Martin Read was kicked out. Andy Green bought 100k at 99p last year.

robwt.............if 300p a share is on the cards then there will be plenty of opertunity to dip in and out................so I won't miss out. However, even 100p a share is a little optomistic in the short term!!

As for massive investment by companies on IT..................only when the recession has ended.............for real. Companies are still laying people off..............so no investment yet!!

robwt - You would have thought so. It is most surprising that Logica has not done better in the last few years. There have been so many disasters in government IT systems and you would have thought that Logica would have been at the centre of curing the problems. Your friend and mine - Martin Read - has a lot to answer for but lets hope for better times ahead.

Selborne, All industry need to update or they will be left in the wake. Technology and Telecoms are the lifelines in the future.
