Here is Mark Slade's latest posting on LinkedIn today. I especially like his last statement.

Around 40% of the location-data being used to build audience segments is not fit for purpose.

Thinking you are targeting people in Tampa, but actually serving ads to people in Tipperary is not ideal.

I mean, it's a long way to Tipperary, right?

If the location-data used to build an audience is poor then the campaign effectiveness is obviously hampered.

When I look back on 2020, I am proud that Location Sciences were able to launch GeoProtect, our audience data verification software, that protects our clients from poor or fraudulent location data being used to deliver your campaigns.

Multiple suppliers and agencies adopted GeoProtect after its launch in September, and I look forward to forging even more partnerships in 2021.

Cyberbub: think they are a seller for some reason, maybe due to it falling below the required MKT cap for the fund it's in and explains why when they announced the latest holding the price started to correct, they used to have nearly 14% last year.

Brut, how do you know Barclays have 10% here? I can't find anything on the LSAI website, no Investors Info page, which surely breaks AIM regulations (Rule 26)?

Further to my 564 posting, it now looks like Blis has got Mobiclicks to remove its home page association with Location Sciences.

So does this suggests Blis is really going to try and develop is own competing offering? The one big drawback to this is how can clients trust them to be entirely independent when verifying the very location data it is also promoting/selling, i.e., marking its own homework, especially after admitting they themselves have manipulating data.

The sooner LSAI can get MRC accreditation the more it will reinforce its independence and business model over any potential challenge from Blis and other data suppliers.

Someone must be picking up anything Barclays is getting rid of or the price would still be tanking, maybe forced to sell due to the assets price falling under a required minimum. Either way look to of bottomed out and are clearly a Covid recovery play as it's that which looks to of caused problems here. imo

Hopefully a bit more upwards next week.

From yesterday’s

Armchair Trader

Location Sciences Group [LON:LSAI] added 36% on the day. The company verifies the accuracy of location data used in targeted advertising and is currently sitting on a very modest market cap of just a few million pounds. With scope for big earnings and high margins, this stock could really have potential if the right signals emerge. Again, no hard news and a wide spread also takes a little of the shine off the gains

Yesterday’s post from the boss.

Here is Mark Slade's latest posting on LinkedIn today.

2021 is the start of the 'DO NOT TRACK' years.

I think that this year will see a huge change in the way advertisers target consumers.

These changes are being forced upon us by the phasing out of 3rd party cookies and changes to Apple's privacy settings.

Critically, Apple is introducing a third option for consumers to manage the location data they share.

Previously the options were:
a) Share location data or
b) Don't share.

The consumer will now have a third option to 'share approximate location' which will pass location signals that are only accurate to approximately a 10 square mile area.

Identifying precise vs approximate location data will be critical to success for location advertising - our Verify product solves this, contact us to learn more.
