For all those looking for comedy on the BBC, Diane Abbott is going to be on Any Questions on Radio 4 this evening. She must have recovered from the tragic long term mystery illness which forced her to step down from public appearances during the last election campaign.

Why I believe TM will win the vote.

The deal has everything for remain.
But,
UK will be in the mercy of Brussels paying billions without a say following the rules of bureaucrats. Nothing change for UK except losing more powers.

The (useless) Labour MPs and JC will be 'arguing' up to the last minute because they want election BUT in the end a third of them will vote for with the blessing of JC.
Election will come next and Labour will claim victory on TMs falling to deliver Bretix.

Ireland was made to vote a second time when they gave the wrong answer on EU expansion in 2003.Seem to remember that one of the Nordic county's was similar.
Let them not play the same game with Britain.

'The first duty of government is defence of the realm and the protection of its citizens'

Yes it is, and a great job they are doing by cutting the power of the police force, scumbags rule.

Just imagine a referendum to get authority to declare War. By the time it was held the enemy might well have completely obliterated the Country. The first duty of government is defence of the realm and the protection of its citizens. That falls within the purview of General Elections. The current EU problem is not a crisis in the sense that War is.

Pawsche. Generally NATO and Europe are indivisible excepting some quirky political differences. USA has up to Trump been a fully committed Member. The EU on the other hand has failed to live up to its promise - politics again. Yet long term the idea still has merit imvho. We need brave politics to make it happen not the usual self-interest.

Good to see Theresa May reaching out to Labour MP's and trade unionists.
This matter is so important a grand cross party alliance, or coalition should have been formed a long time ago.

In times of great national crisis, democracy must be suspended altogether.
This was done in the UK in 1935 because of a financial crises, and lasted all through the war until the general election in 1945.
That was 10 years without a general election, and everyone knew that was correct.

I hope there are no more referenda, maybe one last vote on Brexit.
People must rely on their democratically elected leaders. there was no referendum to go to war in 1914, 0r 1939, or Iraq.

Forget referenda, they muddle the democratic system.

On Lloyds Bank, Deutsche Bank put a Buy on us but lowered the TP from 77p to 68p, dropped Barc TP from 243p to 202p and RBS from 300p to 276p

Personally I was persuaded as much by the "No more European Wars" debate than any other argument. Still holds true for me currently.

I reckon that NATO has done far more to ensure peace in Europe. The EU's track record isn't exactly brilliant... It's interference in Ukraine was largely responsible for the ensuimg Russian invasion, plus other assorted, more minor incursions.

Only trouble is investors take note. Most often when one of the Brokers downgrades the TP it goes down on the day

Freddie,

17 Dec is old news.

Let's put all the propaganda behind us. Those affected have had an offer of compensation (more than what they would have got in any other Country). People like Edmunds is trying to make a meal out of it and though I don't like to see businesses go bust I dislike those that want to allocate all the blame to the Banks. Banks are not here to act as a Charity, they are there to make a profit. Over inflating his media business is egoistical and what he is asking for is ridiculous.

Hopefully, as mentioned by others, This year might be the year where Lloyds starts to deliver for its shareholders, PPI and other bad news leaving us. :)

I hope to see a Divi of 6p next year and a share price of 80p.
