Bargain Bob: Saw a clip on RT of George Galloway being interviewed by an American on LEAVE No deal...he was brilliant, it could have been straight from Nigel or Boris, clear, to the point, no fudging and humorous. Has changed my view of him completely, had always thought of him as being on a different planet lol.

A bit much for our richest and an hereditary peer to boot having the nerve to comment on the sequestering of land by another country. Rather like Prince Charles telling us to recycle our yogurt pots and grow our own food. Very large pots and minute kettles.

Edit: Well, Ok the US isn't a small kettle but the hypocrisy in evidence is mind-boggling.

Reminds one of the true story about when the US asked if they could buy the freehold of their former embassy in Grosvenor Square. The answer was plain and in the affirmative providing "certain lands" were returned to their previous ownership - these lands having been confiscated. The US enquired what the lands were and subsequently the matter was quickly dropped. The then Duke of Westminster had clarified the location of the "certain lands" as being what is now known as the State of Florida.

I don't know whether being east of Barking is actually grounds for impeachment. We shall doubtless find out in the coming months ..........

Trump has now shown himself to be a madman who is using strong-arm tactics against his own people in order to fulfil a vision. Sound familiar? And I thought we had it bad with May & Co, pretending to be politicians.........

Yep the fool has on concept of history, the Yanks appended the whole of Mexican Texas north of the Rio! Andrés Manuel López Obrador will pay for the wall I'm sure if he can put it back to where it was pre-annexation in 1845, and argue about New Mexico and California later! LOL!

Oh, and what about the 14 million acres of reservations, genocidaly seized then so generously leased back from Native Indians to extract oil, gas and gold! and build another around Indian Arizona (Vegas) to keep the Saint Trump's pistol packing, druggy & gambling mobsters away from the rest of the born again American law abiders. He'd do better to address the horrific homicide figures in his backyard!

"I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I'll build them very inexpensively," Trump said. "I will build a great, great wall on our southern border and I'll have Mexico pay for that wall."

Then towards the end of last year, he insisted that the wall would pay for itself:
(If the Democrats won't pay, he'll make a TREMENDOUS business selling tickets to the most frequent users!)

What would be a suitable analogy? The Titanic?

From the DM:

Last night it emerged that the PM is to take personal charge of no-deal planning, as the March 29 deadline for Britain’s exit from the EU approaches. Until now the cabinet committee charged with ensuring the UK is ready for Brexit has been chaired by Mrs May’s deputy David Lidington.

But Downing Street sources said that from Monday a new committee known as EUXT (Preparedness) would focus on ensuring the UK is ready to leave on March 29, regardless of whether a deal has been approved or not. Sources last night insisted securing a deal remains Mrs May’s primary focus.

For years people have been saying the lottery is a tax on the poor and stupid, but is that altogether correct? What if it's the difference between a vanishingly small chance of a good life, and zero chance of a good life?

If you have the money/sense you don't need a lottery ticket and if you don't have the money/sense you need the money to buy you a warm drink. Having opportunity of a good life starts with common sense and the right values. Playing silly games for obscene payouts puts you at the mercy of the capitalist gods which will only end in life-long misery or you jumping off a bridge. It is about time society started acting a little more maturely.

True enough graham...in one way

But the alternate view would say that the lottery only keeps the great and good in the position they aspire to.

The odd lucky punter is at best a publicity stunt.

Brexiteers reasons to be cheerful!!!!

'We don't need Europe!' Remainer outlines BRILLIANT reason why he is NOW a Brexiteer

A REMAINER turned Brexiteer has outlined why he has changed his mind on Brexit –

insisting Britain is doing itself a “disservice” by believing it needs Europe in

order to survive.

The former Remainer said during the 2016 Brexit referendum he originally believed

the next generation would suffer if Britain voted to leave the European Union.

Speaking to Leavers of Britain, a protest group set to unite Brexiteers across the

country, the Dorset resident said: “I have changed my mind now in that position in

so far as when you start the process and you take stock of what you have as an

entity in this country. And also around the people and the talent and the diverse

communities that we actually have.

“I think they are great assets to us and I think we do ourselves a huge disservice

by actually believing that we need Europe to survive.

“I genuinely now am more galvanised that we will do better on our own.

“So, I have actually changed my tune and I am now more for Leave. The process has

actually helped me crystallise my thoughts there, which is not what I thought I

would come to that conclusion.”

The Remainer turned Brexiteer insisted Britain should “push for a no deal Brexit”

if Mrs May is unable to get “significant concessions” before the vote is put back

to MPs on the week beginning the 14 January.
