18/9/2024 21:15 | Kiev Forces Take More Losses In Kursk (Videos) Support SouthFront The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Sever Group of Forces had inflicted more losses on Kiev forces in the direction of Kursk. In its September 18 briefing, the ministry said that most of the losses were sustained by Ukraine’s 22nd, 4th,and 115th mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd Air Assault Brigade, 1st National Guard Brigade and 129th Territorial Defence Brigade near the settlements of Lyubimovka, Daryino, Nikolo-Daryino, Tolsty Lug and Plekhovo. It added that the group also repelled four Ukrainian counter-attacks close to the settlements of Bolshaya Obukhobka, Malaya Loknya and Lyubimovka as well as disrupted other attempts to attack near the settlements of Olgovka and Borki. “The AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] lost up to 40 troops killed and wounded; eight servicemen were taken prisoners; two infantry fighting vehicles, two armored fighting vehicles and a motor vehicle were destroyed,” the ministry detailed in its briefing. In addition, the ministry said that four attempts by Kiev forces to break through the Russian border were thwarted close to Vesyoloye and Medvezhye. “The AFU sustained losses of up to 70 troops killed and wounded, two tanks, including a Leopard tank, two Swedish-made CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles, eight armored fighting vehicles, an artillery gun and a motor vehicle,” it added. The ministry also announced that Russian air and artillery strkes hit gatherings of the 22nd, 41st, and 115th mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th, 82nd, 95th air assault brigades, 1004th Security Brigade, 112th and 129th territorial defense brigades near the settlements of Guyevo, Daryino, Kurilovka, Kruglenkoye, Lyubimovka, Mirny, Martynovka, Malaya Loknya, Nikolo-Daryino, Novy Put, Novoya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Orlovka, Plekhovo, Russkoye Porechnoye, Serdlikovo, Tolsty Lug and Yuzhny. ️Other strikes targeted, according to the ministry, the reserves of the 21st, 22nd, 41st, and 115th mechanized brigades, 82nd Air Assault Brigade, 1st National Guard Brigade, 103rd,106th, 107th, and 129th territorial defense brigades near the settlements of Belovody, Glukhov, Kondratovka, Katerinovka, Malushino, Mogritsa, Mazevka, Novoivanovka, Obody, Pavlovka, Rechki, Rudnevo, Sumy, Stepnoye, Shalygino, Khoten and Yunakovka in the Ukrainain region of Sumy, which borders Kursk. “The AFU losses amounted to more than 400 troops and 23 units of armored vehicles, including two tanks, including a Leopard tank, five infantry fighting vehicles, with two CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles of them, an armored personnel carrier, and four artillery guns, two mortars and 12 motor vehicles,” it said. Russian media published several videos showing some of Ukraine’s recent defeats and losses in both Kursk and Sumy. Kiev forces launched a surprise attack from Sumy into Kursk last August. Since the start of the attack, at least 31 Russian civilians have been killed and more than 143 others have been wounded. Moreover, the attack displaced more than 144,000 civilians. The fate of some 2,000 others who lived in areas attacked by Kiev forces remain unknown. The Russian military launched a counter-attack in Kursk earlier this week. So far, nearly a dozen settlements have been reportedly liberated. According to the Russian MoD, since the start of the battle in Kursk Kiev forces have lost 14,600 troops, 121 tanks, 50 infantry fighting vehicles, 92 armored personnel carriers, 758 armored fighting vehicles, 457 motor vehicles, 107 artillery guns, 28 launchers, including seven American-made HIMARS and six MLRS systems, eight air defense systems, four transport-loading vehicles, 26 electronic warfare stations, seven counter-battery radars, two aerial radars, 14 engineering vehicles, including eight counter obstacle vehicles and one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle.
