In Video: Russian Artillery Foil Ukrainian Attempt To Cross Dnepr River

Support SouthFront

A Ukrainian attempt to land a small group of soldiers on an island in the Dnepr River was foiled, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on August 23.

The group, which was made up of just six soldiers, approached the island in a small boat, but was quickly detected and tracked by Russian reconnaissance, the ministry said in a statement, adding that the boat was quickly targeted with D-30 122 mm howitzers.

“During joint combat work of reconnaissance and artillery crews, up to a section of the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] troops have been eliminated,” the ministry concluded.

Video footage released by the ministry showed the bodies of several slain Ukrainian soldiers on the left bank of Dnper as well as the wreckage of the boat used in the failed landing attempt.

On August 9, a reconnaissance and sabotage group of Kiev forces attempted to land on Kinburn Spit in the Kherson direction. The Russian military targeted the group with anti-tank guided missiles, killing 12 Ukrainian soldiers and destroying two boats.

The recent landing attempts in the Kherson direction appear to be a desperate attempt by the Kiev regime to distract the Russian military, which has been repelling Ukrainian attacks in the Kursk direction advancing rapidly in the direction of Donetsk.

Someone on here I think said today that they had fixed their energy bill. Ive been having a think whilst tricky and millwall are fettlin the bookies back uns. If the expected increase is £150 pa thats about the same as its gonna cost to fix me bill for 12 months. So it then becomes a gamble as to whether its gonna go up further or come down. On the one hand we have Hezbollah and Ed Milliband - both about as barmy and likely to have the same effect on energy bills ie - quadruple em. On the other hand Two Tiered Two Face and Comrade Rachel have seen their popularity drop faster than Ange's kecks behind Ashton Wetherspoons on a Friday neet. In fact I cant understand WTF its going up at all. Energy prices have been dropping and I was of the understanding that there was a current over supply. Either way Starmers Barmy Army are taking stick and wont be over keen on continual rises. So I thinks Im inclined to let me energy bill roll. What ya think chaps?

'Am I going to get through winter?': Roy, 90, says he will shower once a week to cope with cost of energy'

I've been showering only once a week for years, unless I've done something sweaty and mucky!"!!

I added yesterday at slightly over 58p. I'll continue to do so when funds allow.

With a dividend slightly over 5% wrapped in an ISA I'm comfortable with that.

I also believe that this year we'll see the back of 60p.

Time will tell. Good luck all.

That must be circa 6 months of buybacks. And another 3 months to go. Maybe another one starts not long after. Seemingly nothing else can move the share price

UT I’m only backing 2 horses today - both in 5.20 - EBTs Guard (looks good for each way) and Madame de Sevigne (ridiculous price for each way given the drop in weight for a very fast time last time out and running on) NAI !
And if I get the forecast ………;.

Got the feeling it's going to be a tough day, I actually hate these festivals, no form to analyse. Will be backing Rossa Ryan in the first but can't see anything I fancy after that.
