Russian Army Hammers Kiev Forces in Kursk (Videos)

The Russian military has dealt more blows to Kiev forces in the direction of Kursk, the Ministry of Defense announced on August 16.

In its daily briefing, the ministry said that the Sever Group of Forces repelled an attack by Ukraine’s 82nd Air Assault Brigade near the settlement of Russkoye Porechnoye.

Another Ukrainian cross-border attack that was launched by an assault detachment supported by five armored fighting in the direction of the settlement of Gorgeyevka was also repelled by the group, it added.

In addition, Russian strikes eliminated several Ukrainian groups that attempted to advance one kilometer west of the settlement of Anastasiyevka and 1,5 kilometers south east of the settlement of Kauchuk, according to the ministry.

A series of strikes also inflicted losses on Ukraine’s 22nd, 61st mechanized brigades, 95th Air Assault Brigade, and 129th Territorial Defence Brigade near the settlements of Aleksandriya, Snagost, Mirnoye, Kazachiya Loknya, Korenevo, Plekhovo and Pushkarnoye.

And near the settlements of Yunakovka and Miropolye, the ministry said that Russian pinpoint strikes wiped out three American-made M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, two transport-loading vehicles, and two escort vehicles.

Other strikes on the neighboring Ukrainian region of Sumy hit reserves, ammunition and fuel depots close to the settlements of Yuriyevo, Khoten, Vorozhba, Ivolzhanka, Zhuravka and Boyaro-Lezhachi.

“Over the past 24 hours, the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] losses have amounted to up to 220 Ukrainian troops and 19 units of armored hardware, including four tanks, eight armored personnel carriers, seven armored fighting vehicles, seven motor vehicles, three HIMARS MLRS launchers, two transport-loading vehicles, and two field artillery guns,” the ministry said.

“Since the beginning of hostilities in Kursk region, the AFU losses have amounted to up to 2,860 Ukrainian troops, 41 tanks, 40 armored personnel carriers, 23 infantry fighting vehicles, 213 armored fighting vehicles, 102 motor vehicles, four SAM systems, six MLRS launchers, including three HIMARS MLRS, two transport-loading vehicles, 22 field artillery guns, and three electronic warfare stations,” it concluded.

The ministry also released videos showing recent strikes on Ukrainian military vehicles in Kursk by Mi-28 and Ka-52 attack helicopters as well as a Lancet loitering munition strike against a main battle tank from the same direction.

Kiev forces backed by foreign mercenaries launched their attack in Kursk early on August 6. Western-made weapons were heavily used, which indicates that the surprise attack was orchestrated with help from NATO.

Since the start of the attack, at least 12 Russian civilians have been killed and more than 120 others have been wounded. Moreover, the attack displaced more than 120,000 civilians. The fate of some 2,000 others who lived in areas attacked by Kiev forces remain unknown.

The Russian military has already halted the advance of Kiev forces in Kursk. Now, working is ongoing to eliminate the infiltrators, which could take time.

Putin will never make the mistake of using his big weapons.
The civilian death toll would be appalling.
But the fact that he could flatten Kiev in an afternoon counts for nothing these days.

He is in a strange position.
In the past no country would attempt to invade a country with a nuclear capability.

It was the principle of deterrent, Oppeniemer thought and hoped that nuclear weapons would make war obsolete.
There was a mutual respect between America and the Russians, they never troubled each other on their own turf.

So many talking glibly about WW3, how times change.

So many possibilities now the UKR have actually gone on the offensive much more interesting for the casual observer. If I were Putin, the UKR incersion indicates a worrying lack of intensity to the Russian offensive. What will he do next? Has he punched himself out or will he bite down on his gumshield and put it to bed?

The global view is that the UK is now very close to becoming a communist country. The socialist model built up by the Tories over 14yrs will be tweaked by Labour into full blown communism within 5 yrs.

Interesting how tanks, warships and expensive strike aircraft are becoming obsolete.

Cheap as chip drones are sent like a swarm of locusts to use up expensive surface to air missiles. They make hundreds of them at a fraction of the cost of a strike aircraft.

Shooting down a few cheap drones with very expensive surface to air missile systems soon depletes air defence systems. (They are studying use of laser weapons to shoot down drones)

Small radio controlled explosive floating ship drones can attack an aircraft carrier from multiple directions. Hard to stop them all and aircraft carriers cost billions.
The Ukrainian navy was totally wiped out quickly and the Russian navy has suffered heavy losses also.

There must be a solution in Ukraine soon, it is a stalemate and lives are being lost. Zelenski will not be allowed to join American led nato and will have to give up some territory.
