Even the crouts wouldn't dare axe their "Musik zum Träumen" midnight broadcasts on AM radio. My reception from Droitwich is haphazard, either weak, distorted at times, so I asked a ham radio operator who said the once most powerful linear transmitting amplifier valve is on the blink and cannot be replaced because the skills for remaking has long gone with the company that made them! A modern AM transmitter is considered too expensive to employ to placate a dwindling number of decerning listeners. I'm glad I'm not young anymore! |
