Switzerland is composed of cantons who are largely self governing with a central administration in Berne.

That would be like running the UK by the County Councils with a central committee for international relations.

It would work well. The illegal migrants would have to work for a living.

What is a job of standing exactly?

Most proper jobs are of standing. Whilst maybe not upper classesque, many other jobs are a necessity.Perhaps we need fewer Lawyers, and more people in the basic services who have a bloody clue about what hard graft entails!

Post 374182.......Doubt very much whoever is voted the new Tory Leader would call a snap GE. I would think they would want to try and rebuild all the bridges that Boris has destroyed before risking asking Joe Public to vote. I think it would be sensible to wait until 2024 when next GE is due.

Tory members of parliament do not realise they have destroyed the party.

Treason wanted to keep us in EU and loads of others refused to accept the vote.

Guess democracy demanded by so many world wide is of no use when the losers refuse to accept the outcome.

Even worse when ppl like Macdonald conspire to ruin the elected Gov.

Who ever takes over from Bojo will be party leader/PM by default...not voted by voters but by MPs...he/she will want to be chosen by the voters for what they stand for...anybody think the timetable for next week could well include a snap General election in the autumn 2022 or spring 2023 once the Conservative leader is chosen...

It wasn't the trivia really, although used by the MSM. He seemed to lose the backbone to stand up to SAGE and engage with all the science. Utter failed with Net Zero policy...far too underprepared...failed to address ECHR. These things remain and the new leaders in waiting must answer for these things. Other matters too eg H2...etc.

Firm believer that only those who understand the creation of wealth should be trusted with decisions on how to spend without wasting it.
