Rolex go wrong, in the space of about 5yrs I had 2 new glass faces and a service. More trouble than a fkin dog, its in the loft somewhere, had this casio for 6 yrs now on the same battery a full service is an occasional phone wipe with a dish cloth.

Talking of massive leeks, scruffs got some rather dubious sprouts.

Phones and watches are great as computers until they go wrong.

Really what is the point of a flash watch. I saw an amusing article the other day which compared various status symbols and growers of massive leeks in the NE were better renumerated interms of kudos from their peers than the sort of tosspot who buys a 50k watch or a 250k orangery. Although on a more modest level I find personalised number plates & house Xmas decorations infinitely more vulgar.

Contactless is more of a benefit to the retailer than the customer as handling cash is a costly labour intensive business but its already out dated method of payment. If you buy a new I phone 12 an apple watch comes with it free with which you can set up apple pay the preferred method of payment for the under 35's. The contactless card with soon be as irrelevant as cash and status watches like Rolex.

Couldn't agree more. We "discovered" online shopping for groceries when the first lockdown struck. The various delivery drivers since then have all been well turned out, polite and courteous which is more than can be said for an alarmingly high proportion of people one came across in the stores. There has been just one error which we weren't charged for in any case which was large bag of pet food that we gave away after checking with the store whether it would be collected.

Boris is a complete failure on all fronts so therefore the continuation is distract, distract, distract.

Today the distraction is The Metropolitan Police which is already another failure. The Commissioner should never have got the job after being responsible for the death of an innocent Brazilian in Stockwell and should definitely have resigned Thursday.

When will you people stop excusing this catalog of failure?

There won't be any tills in shops soon which is the main reason for contactless cards. Shops will all be self checkout.

If you lose your credit card or have your wallet stolen then you should block your cards online straight away.
A simple click and the cards will not work.

It becomes a race between the thief and yourself as to who can get there first.
I block all of my cards from time to time just for the hell of it.

Because on-line you buy milk and they give you sausage rolls instead - to be used by the end-of-the-day. And some grubby van driver delivers it...

PC, unless you're a foodie and want to squeeze the fruit and veg to make sure it's just right, I can't for the life of me see why anyone would buy provisions other than online.

You can't compare the US markets to the ftse. The US has 10x the investors as the UK, the average US Joe is far more savvy and clued up about investing and markets in general. I worked in NY for 6 years in the early noughties (not finance) the lunch time chat usually involved 'market' chit chat, they are way more sophisticated and willing invest their hard earned into stocks than Brits...it's that simple. The US is huge market, the ftse is tiddly in comparison.
