my pleasure sport. I understand your point in a way but the "unelected beauocrats" line was just a soundbite of the right wing rags run by billionaires along with a lot of other slogans . I think they were elected and the UK was in the EU and had a say in it . Also , there were EU elections periodically but many people in UK did not bother to vote . I personally feel like a citizen of the world and detest nationalism which is NOT actually patriotic , eg my country right or wrong and about 70% of indoctrinated Russians who love murderous thug , Putin , think in this way . That is my take on it anyway , enjoy your weekend sport and the fantastic SPORT on TV .

Did Neil really say that ? I checked out his station yesterday and was really disappointed . Of course I can not stand the arrogant extreme right wing former spectator editor but I thought GB might be amusing . It was so dull but i might give it another go when nothing else interesting on TV . Too much rugby union and soccer to watch at present ! have a good weekend sport . I MIGHT return to oz in a year or so as not keen on brexit Britain with the nasty party in charge !

I wouldn't be so sure of that mm2 if I were you. Maybe it won't be overturned in your's or Minerve's life time but globalisation, communication and travel clear tariffs, prejudices etc.. and water down cultures overtime. It has happened throughout history.

I'm purely sick and tired of the whole thing. It has become a huge distraction for five years and I think there are more pressing issues the UK and Europe faces without this side-show.

Thanks for taking time and trouble to try and explain stock market machinations

My own view is very bearish just on my gut feeling
Will try to take small position at 45 36 level if it gets there but am utterly confounded by the vagaries of the markets
To me there is no logic just take a position and hang in there

I am a brexiteer inasmuch I voted to leave but having spent some time in hospital recently and talking to the various staff there of all nationalities it was never my intention to hurt the ordinary hard working Europeans who are doing their best
It was aimed at the unelected beurocrats who are still trying to tell me what to do
Never meant to hurt the ordinary folk but I stand by my decision it is up to that know nothing Boris to do the right thing by those people but I do not hold out much hope judging him on the ineptness he personifies

UK exports of food and drink to the EU dropped by almost half in the first three months of 2021 from a year earlier, in what trade groups said was a measure of the impact of post-Brexit trade barriers.

Produce to the value of £1.7bn was exported to European countries in the first quarter of the year, down 46.6 per cent from 2020.

The decline from 2019, when exports were unaffected by the pandemic, was even greater — a drop of 55.1 per cent, or £2bn.

The loss of £2bn of exports to the EU is a disaster for industry.
It is a very clear indication of the scale of losses that UK manufacturers face in the longer term due to new trade barriers with the EU.

Companies are struggling with the costs, paperwork and delays resulting from new customs and veterinary checks, while smaller businesses have suffered from recent barriers to sending multiple shipments in a single load.

Sales to Ireland, previously the UK’s biggest food and drinks export market, fell by more than two-thirds, to £281m.
