17/1/2021 17:06 | A group of London business leaders has written to the government calling for financial support for the struggling rail firm Eurostar. "Eurostar is operated by Eurostar International Limited (EIL), which is owned by the national railway of France SNCF (55%), investment firms (40%), and the National Railway Company of Belgium (5%)" ????? | mikemichael2
17/1/2021 16:36 | Scruff Ask a monkey and ply him with peanuts - u will get what u want. Polls appear to be meaningless - particularly street polls - they only seek the answers they want from the ppl they think will provide it. And so it has been for many years. The word truth is now but a perspective - I like that - stuff that Kneel - take note BJ - there is never truth in anything - and u are at the coalface. | jl5006
17/1/2021 15:17 | And particularly blame Ted Heath. Something evil about that man. | xxxxxy
17/1/2021 15:16 | 4. Jim Harris , Sunday, January 17, 2021, 10:53:Of course it is. They demanded that we depleted our fishing fleet, and moved their trawlers in. Just one of the reasons we needed Brexit. We have five years to build trawlers and catch our own fish instead of paying them for our own fish. If you want to blame someone, look at John Major and Tony Blair. | xxxxxy
17/1/2021 15:07 | I'd hardly call the US Democrats 'left' but do continue. You simpletons are amusing. | minerve 2
17/1/2021 15:02 | American Politics has never been more popular with the left because they're not really represented in England & Wales. The BBC will be all over Biden. | utrickytrees

17/1/2021 14:57 | scruff There is plenty of coal around the UK if one wants it. Sheffield could have continued to be strong in steel if we had wanted it to be. Funny how we can open a new coal mine in Cumbria now that it suits 'us'. We have been subsidizing the wealthy since time began and is viewed by the morons as an end in itself. | minerve 2
17/1/2021 14:48 | Personally I cant get overexcited about American politics but had to smile when I read a headline in the Guardian of the far left that 'Trump supporters had been radicalised by the far right'. I thought there may be a few on here who would have something to say about that. | scruff1
17/1/2021 14:29 | scruff1 Not silver, I'm referring to the tin mines. Some had rather large investments as late as the '90s if I remember correctly. Of course, prices of commodities have collapsed with globalisation but other countries, including those in the EU like France, don't seem to have a problem protecting their industry like we do. It is almost as if we positively enjoy the destruction of our ship building, steel, automative and other heavy industries. I wonder why? (Actually, I know why) | minerve 2
17/1/2021 14:10 | Minnie - 101 By my reckoning that means 1 of every 12 or so positive tests ends up in hospital and 1 in 25 ends up dead. Thats not what we have been led to believe is it? | scruff1
17/1/2021 14:09 | I wonder which government was the nail in the coffin for many of those mines? Has Boris forgot or does he rely on the ignorance of the UK public? I've been to some of those mines including the last one to have substantial investment back in the day. | minerve 2
17/1/2021 14:07 | I bet no Eton boy was down those mines. | minerve 2 |
