A few things to respond to here.

M2, Trump is one thing - Trumpism is another thing altogether. Trump is loathesome and has been clearly so for many years prior to becoming president. You only have to revisit his interview with Selina Scott of about 25 years ago. It ought to have been run of the mill, but was pretty disgraceful.

He was voted in because many Yanks were quite happy to hold their noses and vote for him instead of the appalling Hilary Clinton. That says a lot that cannot be ignored. Furthermore, many agreed with his policy agenda, whether you like that or not.

Lefrene, you are a moron. I can take the view that I have expressed above and at the same time detest much of what is written in the Guardian (the occasional excellent article, though none which have anything to do with politics or normal life), and pity the journalists tethered to its belief set. Thinking, if you have ever tried it, need not be limited to up/down, or left/right or hot/cold. Many other dimensions and it is turnips like you who simply amplify the anger.

Stonedyou, try writing as though you were not impersonating a six year old. Again, like Lefrene, you need to understand that there are opinions somewhere between those of Trump and the Guardian, or between M2 and an orange juice drinker. And it’s really not that hard to think of some.

The collective intelligence on show of around 70% of the posters here would be insufficient to open a can of corned beef.
