We just have to accept it as part of our lives the same as we do flu. We don't shut down every winter for that and it's much the bigger killer to old folk like me.
At least with this for the most it's mild and.you do get an immunity that should hold us till we get the vaccine.

#6285 grahamite: recall at the time the banks were roundly criticised for not processing the applications quickly enough so that business could keep its head above water.
Spun as incompetence of banks but for all we know they could have been taking time to try and filter out dubious applications. Presumably they have ways of doing this and maybe the banks better at it won't get hit as hard with defaults.

It isn't for nothing. It is a cost for your business and you are fulfilling your duty and responsibility to the rest of society. Perhaps if you filed your accounts clearly in the first place you may not have had the enquiry.

I did bob. Cost the revenuers more than they collected for the nit picking.

Still out of pocket tho, and all for nothing.

Now there's a radical idea that shows flair and imagination (i'm on one here chaps - all this rain - nowt else to do :-) ) Students at M/C university holding Covid parties. You have to be tested positive to be allowed in. Could be a blue print for pubs, theatres etc. Manchester you see. Always was a centre for innovation

In fact thinking about it what if our two resident cheer leaders Witless and Unbalanced had said in the first instance that this would last at least 5 years. Would there be any point in Sunaks plan to give all our momey away to non existent and bankrupt businesses. Its becoming clear to me at least that the whole bankrupting of everyone and everything was pointless because it hasnt and isnt working. Plan B is urgently required. Doris should learn from me. I should have sold LLoy at 50p instead of holding on to a bad idea.

I don't see why it is such an emotive issue for those with nothing to hide.

Sounds right to me too chavi. Big weakness with Doris and Mattildas current approach is there is no time limit. If this goes on for 2, 5, 10 or longer years wtf is everyone gonna do? Pubs will be shut, restaurants will be shut. Cinemas, theatres f* everything. They cant limpalong forever. So what then? Does Doris turn round and say look people thanks for all your efforts but it aint worked so lets sack it. Weve run out out of your cash anyway and nobody will lend us anymore. Lets give that herd immunity malarky a bash after all the NHS queues for operations for cancer etc are so long that death by covid is pretty unusal these days. Lack of a plan for the end game is always a weakness.eg Vietnam, Iraq etc. IMO

Not myself, Max, but I've been involved in some.

The question is, whether the state has the right to know every last little thing about you, and I say it does not. Government is a necessary evil and its scope should be limited.

Minerve, you are a totalitarian so it's no surprise to find you supporting totalitarian methods. But some of us would prefer to live in a free country.

Why should anyone have to "explain" his wealth?

Because those who can't are 100% criminals.
