I can't envisage Lloyd's losing 22b during the coronavirus outbreak so as they have paid a divi during the ppi compensation fiasco, I would say the divi is safe.

The dividend dates have already been published, my guess is the amount may vary from 0.6p/share to zero but i cannot envisage why the dates would change.

Here's a thought:

Is the wearing of masks an impediment to the battle against the spread of the virus?

It's said that they're useless, or near to useless; so do people wearing masks take more risks and thus contribute to the spread of the virus?

They're going to need the capital at some point.
Also they have to be mindful of conditions imposed by government last week. Very very thin line.

The vocal pitch of meja reporting is panic inducing. Someone needs to take responsibility. Stats still not adding up in my opinion. This is CYA agenda in full flow.

Don’t count on it. First thing I would do as a responsible CEO is take the dividend off the table.

That's all very well for you! I hate gardening and decorating and I can't see Her Majesty's Government refunding the four months of my golf-club subscription that I'll be unable to take advantage of!!

I'll just have to start dyeing my hair and lying about my age. :-)

There will be four ex divi dates.

Wendsworth and Cobourg1

Thanks. Yes only one divi ex date would encourage short term holders etc.
From your response it sounds like LLoyds have not actually stated their intention yet.

Two or four ex divi dates is my guess.

Cheers

Not Just Seniors: French Doctors Report 50% Of ICU Patients Under 60 Years Old, Netherlands Under 50

"Not just the elderly then"

It would be interesting to know the ethnicity of these "under 60s"... Italy has been having a "quiet" epidemic of tuberculosis, brought in by its illegal "refugees". It's a medical fact that Covid-19 is only really lethal when combined with another pre-existing problem - which is why Italy has by far the worst figures for Europe.

Re the 16-year-old suffering from "nausea and headaches" and is now in an induced coma - those are not symptoms of Covid, more likely a brain bleed or similar. He could be carrying the virus but unless he has a genetic susceptibility to it, it's not going to be the root cause of his problem.

The Netherlands and Germany also have a large "enriching" community, let's see how they get on in the next few weeks.

And indeed it could rise to 3500 dead. Still excellent rate of survival. Remember about 4000 globally die each day from tuberculosisPerspective. And don't cry.

But only about 35 dead out of a population of over 60 million. Life goes on. Storms pass. Depression passes.

Wendsworth, can you not think for yourself?
Herd mentality, you only realise you’re in trouble as they raise the metal bolt.
If you don’t realise that the system is fkd then it’s too late for you.
This breaks every rule.
Mass unemployment, mass insolvencies, death rates never seen before, a sudden stop economy that will take months on months to eventually restart. I hope you pay your broker well.

Guss - Since when there were two dividend payments there were two ex div dates, logic says there will be four ex div dates in future.

One ex div date would lead to big selling after that date or a big drop in the share price with massive buying in for the four dividends once a year.

Unworkable surely.
