Think you'll find Obama already laid the foundations for Middle Class losing theirs with the $9 trillion he borrowed.

USA has been living on borrowed time for quite a while now.

yes but Bob, wasnt it the same the last time around, and the same for the Brexit referendum. The polls were simply wrong. Just checked back on the last indy ref numbers. 10% of the 2 million no voters would have to change their mind. There is also a percentage of Nationalist that dont want to be part of the EU, ie they want to be independent. Do you honestly think now is the right time to hold a SI referendum without actually knowing what the UK's relationship with the EU is going to be. I'm sitting on the fence here, just trying to work out where is the logic in holding one before say summer 2021 when there would be a lot more knowns.

Nae logic

One of the UK’s leading pollsters has warned that Brexit has put the union at risk after another survey showed a narrow lead for Scottish independence.
Sir John Curtice, of the University of Strathclyde, said the poll by Panelbase putting the yes vote at 52% confirmed a trend showing a gradual increase in support for leaving the UK, post-Brexit.

Three polls in the past five days had put the yes vote at 50% or higher. “The pursuit of Brexit is putting support for the union at risk, that’s the very clear lesson,” Curtice said.

Have seen internal data for my local area we are seeing 57 per cent now .

I think I calculated something like an 18% change of heart for the no to SI group to make up the short fall of the pro independence group. Sounds unlikely. Together with the 400K English that work up here and a proportion of their spouses are unlikely to go for SI. They should just bring it on then take it off the table for the next 50 years. Plus what is the time table. And what's the point before we know if it would mean having a physical border with the rest of the UK, terms of re-entry to the EU and what shekles do we use. Give me these answers then I can maybe start to form an opinion about whether leaving a post brexit UK is a good idea or not.

If they held an independence ref in Scotland today, you would get the same result as the last one. Bargain Bob speaks with his SNP cap on.

There is a silent majority North of the border and they smile and nod their heads when they hear the tripe the SNP spout, but just like you never hear of a Scottish Brexiteer or one who wants to stay in the UK, they will vote in their thousands.

Don't mistake the Democrats in the USA as anything like our Liberal or Labour Party, AOC and the few lefties are a small percent. The majority of the Dems believe in Capitalism... jeez, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter were all centre right, Clinton was very Conservative and Obama for Christ's sake bailed out the banks and the auto industry.

Bernie Sanders is not what I call a socialist, he ain't Jeremy Cotbyn. Having lived in the States, the Dems apart from Carter who had a World recession have always had a better economy and left the US in a better state.

The jury is out on Trump, it looks rosy from the outside, but what is lurking?? those major tax cuts made the top boys and girls fortunes, but the ordinary middle class will be losing theirs shortly.

@Cheshire,

And we Brits owe it to the Aussies to be fair and try for a good deal - considering we shafted them, and the kiwis by turning our back on them when we joined the ECM.
(and the herds that had to be slaughtered down under as a result of tariffs imposed by our new European partners)

I saw Farage on TV recently.
He was asked if he would be settling in Europe as his two children held German passports.

As usual he slithered and slimed and talked about something else.
Never answers a simple question.

Meanwhile In China, "Residents Forcibly Taken Away After Refusing To Be Quarantined"

Radio Free Asia (RFA) has tweeted a disturbing video on its Twitter account Tuesday morning detailing how some residents in Kunshan, Jiangsu, a city in southeastern Jiangsu province with Shanghai bordering its eastern border and Suzhou on its west, are forcibly removing people from their homes who refuse to be quarantined

If ,sorry , When it gets back to 62p I'll probably take some off the table just to be careful and let the rest ride. 62p is still a really good price for it in my opinion.Though I'll probably ask wendslydale first as he's hot to trot at the moment :)

My average is circa 62p. I'm still expecting lloy to visit 50p again whilst there is the possibility of a hard Brexit. Updays as it meandersdown as well . You seem to have timed it beautifully to catch some well done. Do you have a target exit price for that trade?

mitchy: Thanks for your posts. What's your current average? I suspect I'm in a slightly better place only having the one holding.
