I see no future for labour.. they are afraid to face the truth and afraid to change. They need a new leader outside to change the party and their policies. Another 10 lost years for old labour. That's good news as UK need a conservative government to take us forward the future.. not backwards like labour would have done.

Called in at the estate/letting agent this afternoon and house prices have risen since the election even oop north, or perhaps I should say especially oop north. Reason being threat of Corbyn's proposals gone and investors now committing to buy to let under Boris underpinning the whole market. Happy days, hopefully 10 to 15 years of prosperity and possibly longer if the scourge of hard left socialism can be eradicated for good.

Patient Capital: "But, maxk, this diversity is the “in” thing even if it is vomit inducing."

Certainly is PC, looked up Morgan Stanley website earlier for something else and first thing that hits you is "Diversity". What with "inclusion", the latest buzz words in the workplace. Noticed it several years back, cost saving exercise often times but dressed up as politically correct and caring.

UK is on top of the list until it isn't. Best not bring in the digital tax or Trump and his cronies will not be impressed. That means giving unfair advantage to the likes of Uber and Amazon which means kissing goodbye to traditional London Taxis and the continual destruction of our high-street.

Very clever.......NOT!

Bring on that chicken Donald!

LOL

M5... well said. But on saying that I am off out to a 'nice' place tonight. Rare treat for me as my regular goto is a really good indian --- struggle to do that myself as they fire everything on a charcoal tandoor--- very authentic. You can definitely get good food and service on a budget. I think sometimes you just pay for the location and the exclusivity if that's your thing.

There's a woeful lack of understanding about ISA's, happily perpetuated by the financial industry and the media. People are encouraged to believe that the purchase of the ISA itself is the end of it, with little attention paid to the risks involved in investing, investing via that particular vehicle or the reasons for purchasing the ISA in the first place. For many people, there is no point in an investment ISA at all.

Has it not shut down ??

If not, I hope you're not "borrowing" from them for your "investment" (that's cash converters by the way, NOT the Bulgarians and Romanians)............

Not sure if this counts as insider trading, but I've just had conversation with someone very senior at cash converters (I was the face of cash converters several years ago in me prime) & they're predicting the high street will do very well this year because all the Bulgarian & Romanian shop lifting gangs are rumoured to be throwing in the towel after Brexit. Think I'm going to target some investment in the direction of the budget end of the high street, thoughts anyone?

The cost to the general public in pandering to all of these people with differences is massive. Despite the meja agenda you are talking about fractions of a percentage of the population.
Disability needs to be re-thought... the money needs to be spent on enabling people not changing the world around them. A quadriplegic recently walked up snowden...the technology is moving forwards at pace and we should be investing in it through our universities, ( I am sure we are) with a bigger spending budget. But with regard to re-gendering, it should not be state sponsored. Mental help should be given to those that are struggling with their identity, but their "rights" should not impact on others.

The transgender activists should be arrested - unacceptable behaviour.
Then imprisoned for 1-2 years in the prison responding to their gender at birth.

Oxford University professor given security guards for lectures after threats from transgender activists

Camilla Turner, education editor Ewan Somerville
23 JANUARY 2020 • 9:30PM

An Oxford University professor has been given security guards to accompany her to lectures after receiving threats from transgender activists.

Prof Selina Todd, a historian who specialises in the lives of women and the working class, said that she has now been provided with “routine security” to ensure she is not attacked.

The academic - who has been accused of being a “transphobe” for her involvement in women’s rights advocacy – was told by her students that she was potentially in danger.

“Two students came to see me and said they were very worried that threats had been made to me on email networks they were part of,” Prof Todd told The Telegraph.

“The university investigated the threats and came back to me to say their intelligence on them is such that they are providing me security for all of my lecturers for the rest of this year. They said 'you're having two men in the rest of your lectures'.”...
