05/12/2019 15:02 | Try MCOL. The real one. The government one. Not the look alike. Cost 25. Things should last 6 years. Took on Tesco and won. Good luck. Online MCOL. | xxxxxy
05/12/2019 15:01 | I have two 17 year old sofas in one room which is used a lot. The fabric isn't worn out, the frames are going. MultiYorks - which were good. Sadly the company has gone bust. The cushions are duck feathered filled. Never again. The fabric has loosened and duck feathers spring out everywhere. When I find a sofa that we like it will be replaced but I hate the modern offerings with the light wooden legs and top brand styles currently don't interest me. | minerve 2

05/12/2019 14:39 | At the moment i have been talking to DFS, so, if i do go to court, they can see i have done due diligence to try and solve the issue. Next i will try Trust Pilot and see what they say. I know i will get nowhere, but in the end, surely the fabric on a settee should last longer than 4 years whatever they say and that will be my case. I have a 12 year old Jazz with fabric seats, not a wear mark in sight | mikemichael2
05/12/2019 14:21 | Actually mm2, Which? legal is a monthly fee so you could just sign up for the few months you need the help. | minerve 2
05/12/2019 14:21 | mm2, are you just talking to the store where you bought it from or have you moved up the chain? | m5
05/12/2019 14:16 | mm2 If I remember rightly I believe there is an implicit understanding in UK consumer law that product should last for two years normal use. I used to be a subscriber to Which? magazine. For, I believe, £79 or something similar, you can gain access to Which? legal team which give you advice on such things. With a big name like DFS if there is any substance in your claim Which? legal will assist you within that £79 fee and many times they decide to use your case for column inches. That should get DFS to shift before court. It did with me, I got a company, a Royal Warrant holder, to pay up. It didn't go down too well at the company, it split the BOD. Good luck. :) | minerve 2
05/12/2019 14:16 | You said it mm2. A 2 year guarantee. Dont see how you have a claim. | maxk

05/12/2019 12:48 | Oh dear you are a bore sometimes Min. I think you need to look at that second paragraph of yours as you are one of the most prolific posters on here talking about that very subject. PMSL. Only a Millionaire, never mind, there is always the Lottery :-) Anyway its cold, so off to light my fire with some £50.00 notes I have found lying around, LOL. 05/12/2019 12:09 | UK new car registrations dropped 1.3 percent from a year earlier to 156,621 units in November 2019, as multiple factors, including weak business and consumer confidence, economic uncertainty, etc. No surprise. | alphorn
05/12/2019 12:07 | Min2, how old are you then 25? :-) | m5
05/12/2019 12:06 | No problem Alphorn, enjoy your posts too even though don't agree with all. Wouldn't do for all to think same. | cheshire pete
05/12/2019 12:05 | cheshire One day you might realise it is our own government that stops in the way of industry. Perhaps it is too late though, reality is wasted on you. ;) | minerve 2 |
