Usual hopeless results thanks to ppi, that idiot ceo should never have agreed to pay out anything, all the other banks were going to challenge it and string it out in the courts for aeons but Lloyds the imbeciles broke ranks. Another terminal uk investment.

But how...savers have been deprived of income last 10 years with interest rates so low...where is the incentive to save?...

All things considered, not a bad reaction to it. Profit wasn't bad outside of ppi. .it might bring in a lot if investors this week actually.

Depends on banking/global outlook (can't be great )

But to be honest. ..that will tempt many today

PPI claims seems to be the biggest legalised fraud ever imagined but welcome to kick start the economy by putting windfall sums into people's pockets!

Anything new or same old pre election campaign promises...manipulate voters minds...

Jeremy Corbyn will seek to scorn Conservative attempts to portray themselves on the side of the people against the elite, kicking off his election campaign by promising to side with the public against a “corrupt system” run by those with vested interests.

On Thursday, the Labour leader will single out individuals, including the Sports Direct boss, Mike Ashley, the financier Crispin Odey and the media owner Rupert Murdoch, as examples of individuals Labour’s policies would target.

In an attempt to get onto the front foot before parliament is dissolved next week, Corbyn will stake out Labour’s ground in a battle that will help define the campaign.

“This election is a once-in-a-generation chance to transform our country, take on the vested interests holding people back and ensure that no community is left behind,” Corbyn will say.

Takes Lloyds total PPI repayments up to a staggering and quite obviously fraudulent claims of 22billion GPB. Just imagine the admin costs involved in that. Cheaper to pay out than investigate. Seems more and more like a structured penalty reinvestment program forced by govt and judiciary on the banks to fuel the economy via bogus claimants.

IMO things started going south for most countries as soon as loyalty, honour and probity went out of the window.

It is now generally accepted practice that loyal customers get screwed over for benefit of new ones who will leave at the drop of a hat.

And our society is worse for it.

Wow, £1.8bn PPI impairment.
Ample evidence that most banks cannot make money without ripping off/thieving from their customers.
