It is estimated that approximately two million people will have died since the referendum bythe time we leave the eu, mostly old who voted to leave, and an even greater number of young people have now become eligible to vote and would vote remain. How then can anyone argue it would be a betrayal of the people to have a people's vote especially when now all the hard brexit profiteers in parliament are now flocking like sheep to Mays THIRD meaningfully vote which they rejected en masse on two occasions?
The people of this country have had three years of experience to gain a greater understanding of what brexit involves , and the polls show 54% would vote now remain. The only way to settle any decision is a second referendum, the cowards who want to foist their will on the people want to prevent this and this is the ultimate treachery.

Speed doesn't kill, idiots do. If you are not an idiot you may break speed limits but you will still be a safer driver than the idiot who might not. I used to travel Bristol to Brussels often via the tunnel, rarely dropped the needle below 80MPH/130KPH.

I have had many cars that could easily clock over 140MPH and one that was capable of over 200MPH. I've never had an accident which was my fault, never even come close, driven RHD on RH roads, RHD on LH roads, LHD on LH roads and LHD on RH roads all over the Western world, I have a clean license and have had one for almost 2 decades.

All this will do is increase apathy to road awareness and reading signs and remove further independence and responsibility from humans and put faith in tech - not the utopian answer some PC idiots believe it is.

Max - probably fits with the new computer driven cars that will stick to speed limits.
I do many long distance continental motorway journeys and always use cruise control close to the speed limit. Gone are the days when you came up on someone in the fast lane at double their speed. I am ashamed to say (for AZ) that I don't think that I ever took my bikes over the ton. :((

All new UK cars to have speed limiters by 2022 under EU plans

Road safety measure part of package of reforms likely to be adopted despite Brexit

Gwyn Topham Transport correspondent

Wed 27 Mar 2019 00.40 GMT

All new cars sold in the UK and Europe are to be fitted with devices to automatically stop drivers from exceeding the speed limit under sweeping changes to vehicle safety rules provisionally agreed by the EU.

Although Britain may no longer be part of the EU when the rules come into effect, the UK regulator, the Vehicle Certification Agency, has said it will mirror safety standards for vehicles in the UK.

The speed limiter is one of a range of safety features to be made mandatory from 2022, along with automated emergency braking, electronic data recorders and improved visibility built into lorries for drivers to see vulnerable cyclists and pedestrians around the vehicle.

Safety campaigners described the move as one of the biggest leaps forward in 50 years and said it could save 25,000 lives by 2037.

The speed limiter device, called intelligent speed assistance, or ISA, uses GPS data and sign recognition cameras to detect speed limits where the car is travelling, and then will sound a warning and automatically slow down the vehicle if it is exceeding the limit.

Other measures agreed by the EU include making data recorders mandatory to help investigate vehicle crashes and assist research into increased safety. Another feature already standard in many new cars, a lane departure warning system, will become obligatory.

Volvo recently became the first manufacturer to announce it would limit the speed of all its new cars, albeit to 112mph – above the speed limit everywhere bar German autobahns.

Markets are still betting on the softest of Exits - there will be a market shock if they are wrong.
(I am still skewed to downside protection).

More likely that they don't have a clue what they are doing.

The risk of an accidental Exit should not be discounted.

Please note the date: The UK Government is really playing a devious game, having already stated that the answer to the Petition to Revoke Article 50 is NO.

Parliament is going to debate the petition you signed – “Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU.”.

The debate is scheduled for 1 April 2019.

Once the debate has happened, we’ll email you a video and transcript.

Thanks,
The Petitions team
UK Government and Parliament

April Fools apparently.

You are obviously embarrassed about what you did. So we can deduce it wasn't anything special and certainly didn't require any grey cells.

It is obvious to us. Not your fault you just took the first job going aged 16.
