05/7/2024 10:59 | 0.5 million FEWER | kkclimber56
05/7/2024 10:57 | A careful examination of the overall numbers suggests thst in 2024 Labour polled 0.5 million votes than they did under Corbyn in 2019 despite an increase in the number of registered voters of 0.6 million.I would love to listen to him explain that one away. | kkclimber56
05/7/2024 10:50 | careful the EU will treat us like dirt, and milk us for even more wealth if Starmer does some sort of deal. The EU milked us for half a century and kept their old practices where it suited them to do so, whilst Britain behaved like a true European. I twice took workers into Europe in the mid 90's, both France and Germany tried to stop my men from working! In one country I had to resort to law, and in the other it was bribery, I wonder if you can guess which was which?! One hopes this is a stepping stone to setting this country free, so that it can once again generate wealth for all. | lefrene
05/7/2024 10:19 | A new era now. StarMer Sunak Davey all decent honest blokes. Collectively they got a lot of votes yesterday. Lying self serving baffoon Boris, the European support group, Rees Mogg, Baker and Farage selling the idea that we are still a great independent country, all foreigners are evil. They are all gone, toast, a good riddance to them, a dreadful period in our history. We shall get a better deal with the EU, and have a fresh look at lot of other problems. Starmer could surprise in the upside. | careful
05/7/2024 09:59 | Doubt if all elected Labour MP's will fit on one side of HOC... | diku
05/7/2024 09:59 | 12p To 70p ! | chinese investor
05/7/2024 09:48 | The markets have always been staunch Conservative, Clearly attitudes have changed, IMO we could see these moving nearer to 80p over the next few months. | jugears
05/7/2024 09:26 | Labour have power for 5 years, that is all that matters. An almost impossible job. As Hunt said in his speech last night, Labour are in a better position than the Tories to reform the NHS. What will he do about the rubber boats crossing the channel? If they continue he will be in big trouble very quickly. Most of us think they should be turned back by the border force and returned to France, Then destroy the boats beyond repair. It seems simple but he will have to take on human rights lawyers who are making lots of money from this racket. | careful
05/7/2024 09:26 | Massive BBC headlines showing top 4 results, no mention of reform, they don't like it up em. | mikemichael2
05/7/2024 09:19 | UT...post 395510...hoping debates will be more entertaining with diverse views and opposing views in HOC to get more voters in tune... | diku
05/7/2024 08:50 | ThickSmith, one crucial statistic you've probably overlooked (if previous posts are anything to go by) is % of votes recieved by party. I has a quick look this morning for Derby North and Reform recieved over 22% of the vote....remarkable really! What's important is that Farage, Tice, Anderson & others have now got a platform in the HOC. Although not official I predict these three alone will get more traction as the unofficial opposition that Labour have in the last 14yrs. Reform or the Tories fronted by these 3 will be in contention for government after this term. | utrickytrees
05/7/2024 08:44 | Agreed climber - but unfortunately we shall have to endure this shambles of a party May seem unified and in control now - but give it a few months and we'll see the raving lunatic fringe (i.e. the real liebour party) | joe say
05/7/2024 08:43 | I wonder if Lib Dems will still be pushing for proportional representation after that vote!!!! | tygarreg
05/7/2024 08:43 | With exception of 2001 this is the lowest turnout since 1918.Labour and libdems JUST hang on to their vote in englandThis is simply a protest vote from tory supporters who are fed up with division and incompetence. I am a tory at heart but happy with the result. In no way is this a swing to the left. Simplky a wske up call for the tory party to rid itself of idiots and extremists. | kkclimber56
05/7/2024 08:38 | Except 60% voted | kkclimber56
05/7/2024 08:19 | Call it intuition, but I polished my doc Martins & pressed me dungarees yesterday. Already feeling more in touch with my feminine side. Might get a piercing at the wkend. | utrickytrees
05/7/2024 08:04 | Starmer only got 34% of vote and only 50% voted so actually only 17% of population voted Labour! | tygarreg
05/7/2024 07:58 | Sigh of relief election over...volumes very light... | diku
05/7/2024 07:54 | Stock market likes it. As Emma said of her 1st round win at Wimbledon and Englands Euro wins, `If you win ugly, it still counts'. | careful |
