If you want complete sovereignty you'd need to resign from every international body, and drop every trade deal. Become like North Korea. Every agreement involves giving up a bit of sovereignty for benefits.

H Jones6 Dec 2020 11:59AMThe EUSSR has not the slightest intention of actually agreeing a deal that will restore our complete sovereignty and put us on level terms with the rest of the world, and all the visits to Brussels and further negotiations will not produce one.The EUSSR`s intention is that we shall finally crash out, struggle along for a short while, repent our (in their view) dreadful error, and come begging to be taken back on whatever onerous terms the EUSSR decides to impose to punish us for our temerity. The assume that this will also help `Pour encourager les autres ` to behave themselves and  not step out of line. All further discussions and panic visits to Brussels are a complete waste of time, the EUSSR has already decided (or, at least, France and Germany have) that we either toe THEIR line completely or we leave without a deal and come back later begging. So, tell them to get knotted, and leave, and then STAY OUT.. Shes never been popular with intelligent Scots who are prepared to get off their backsides and better themselves Scruff, she resonates with the bitter thickos like Bobster & wee ginger Dug who I'm pleased to say is recovering well after a stroke.

I can't believe the news today
Oh, I can't close my eyes and make it go away
How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long? How long?
'Cause tonight
We can be as one
Tonight
Broken bottles under children's feet
Bodies strewn across the dead-end street
But I won't heed the battle call
It puts my back up, puts my back up against the wall
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Alright, let's go

Chap I am working for at mo (a wealthy chap) had decided to go to Scotland for Christmas. He goes to some hotel on its own island up near Oban. £5000 for 3 nights.
Told me yesterday that the hotel had phoned to tell him that the Scottish government was shambolic and as there was absolutely no clarity had decided to shut until February. If his bill is owt to go by that is one hell of a lot of lost revenue and the decision must have been difficult. Wee Jimmie not popular there at least.

No deal is still better than a bad dealBy JOHNREDWOOD | Published: DECEMBER 10, 2020The EU negotiations have been made deliberately complex by the EU. Beneath all the obfuscation and deliberate efforts to dilute, delay or cancel Brexit, there is a simple disagreement. The U.K. says we will be an independent country like Australia or Canada. We offer a Free Trade Agreement which helps both, offering more to the EU as they are in huge surplus on trade. The EU says we need to be bound into their laws and controls, and surrender our fish if we want a Free Trade Agreement. In that case the answer must be No Deal. We should not compromise our independence.

The prospect for UK and European weighted shares and investment trusts doesn't look great..FTSE futures holding up on internationals presumably. But hey the Market has been relaxed all along, just me I think that takes the impasse seriously and too gullible to see through politicians lies and theatricals. Even betting odds do not take No Deal seriously.

By Sunday all will be over and done.. Black clouds over UK skies from Monday. The end of the world as we know it is here. A Place in Hell. Remember that man Donald Tusk he has spoken of a "special place in hell"I can see UK on it's knees begging to take us back and forgive us for making such a mistake to leave this great union of theirs.. Lol..........

lol Alphorn "while the vultures dressed up as white doves (like the cheshires of this world) will go bullish overseas earners."

Have been bullish overseas earners for years, not just cos of Brexit though. Like the look of LSE though...just look at the number of offers for it in recent years. Just ask why.
