Pandy - "If we can't stop a few dinghies coming over.."

I recommend that you brush up on Maritime Law, Pandy.

Quite right, Minnie, they're French fish.

But, of course, right-minded folk understand that fish can 'migrate'. It's more a question of the UK being only 'allowed' (sticks in my throat) to catch more than a small % of the fish in UK waters, and to object to that seems quite reasonable.

The EU has for decades adopted damaging and ridiculous fishery policies, and now we have the opportunity to undo some of the damage. You would argue that we'd make a hash of that, but as we'd be solely responsible instead of 27, or so, other countries, I'd say that there's a fair bet that we'd do a better job.

What an odd viewpoint.

mitchy - I always follow the news too. I always try to read as many as possible to try and ensure a bit of balance. Dont always believe them. In fact they are quite funny in their predictability. Independent seems to glorify anything that is negative towards Britain, The Guardian is so predictable and so far left of its original liberal roots as the MG and EN, The Telegraph seems to have got itself lost - half right half liberal elite left, The Mail mainly sensationalism with important celebrity updates (maybe otherway round) and The Express ?? main headline ALWAYS Brexit.
Good article in DT about Brexit - can Boris pull it off or will he screw us like all previous PM's.
Vaccines (Pfizer, Oxford) seems to be like the elusive Test and Trace and the 15 min airport test - keep disappearing. Got to agree though how long this is going to run is getting worrying - as well as the final cost. Would love your views on the next ice age - I can feel it coming (so can BP - another of my great ideas :-)

Scruff , I always follow the news whatever that may be. Positive yesterday apart from the PMI . Today ,so far, a 'choppy' week ahead for big earners in the U.S. Stimulous talks on going ,Brexit looks the EU are desperate to deal, Covid numbers still climbing world wide. But the vaccine was the big hope of salvation. Now it turns out even a successful vaccine will only be partially effective. That means further lockdowns ad infinitum. Or at least until the Fiat money starts hyperinflation. Just be grateful I don't give you my views on the next ice age.

Here's the deal: we allow EU fishing access to our territorial waters at a declining rate for the next 4 years, and then they get X% fishing rights.

OR they don't agree and after we leave on 1st January they get zero access.

That seems clear to me. I know what I'd do.

Blimey mitchy this is volte - face from yesterday morning's abundance of positivity.
You should never pay too much attention to the tabloids anyway -or the broadsheets come to that. Look on the bright side. Lockdowns galore, the welsh locked in solitary confinement maybe idefinately and the jocks entangled in more tiers than the Shard we wont need a vaccine as the virus wont be able to find anyone - it will have been beat by sound common sense policies.

This video suggests the Oxford vaccine probably won't be ready until spring of 2021 and only in limited supply. But worse MUCH worse is it will only be 50% effective! Which means that even with the vaccine we will still have the same measures in place for Ever ! https://youtu.be/VDNzmY7Ek6E
