Taking back controlBy JOHNREDWOOD | Published: OCTOBER 6, 2020There are two ways from here to take back control properly from the EU on 1 January. The first is to do so by an Agreement about our future relationship. This would not only include a Free Trade Area but would also end the residual jurisdiction of the ECJ , end the payments to the EU and end any further ability of the EU to tie us to their laws. The second is to leave without an Agreement and pass a short confirming Act of Parliament removing the remaining powers of the EU. This would build on the essential assertion of Parliamentary sovereignty in Clause 38 of the Withdrawal Agreement Act, confirming the notwithstanding clause over all residual matters.I assume given the view of the EU it will need to be the latter. Far from undermining our standing in the world such an Act would be seen as a sign of strength by the UK, clearly setting out our independence. As the Supreme Court and the Commons has confirmed, the UK Parliament can make these laws and lead our country in the way required by the referendum decision.

If Bidens incontinence started getting the better of him or his arthritis flared up theyd just fast track Kanye West in. He'd bling the WH up with a bit of Gold leaf rip the back seats out of the beast & install some speakers.

Doris been on the lash then. Every house in britain powered by wind in - wait for it - 10 yrs. How long this HS2 malarky been rocking ?. How long have they been trying to decide where they should party whilst the H of P is redecorated - if they can ever sort out which mates can have the contracts. 10 years my backside.
What with all Doris' housing and now windmills maybe time to rename the national parks as national beauty spots - or better still micro dots. I see already talk of relaxing planning in the lake district. At least doris is showing some joined up thinking for a change. More immigrant bricklayers he reckons. Hes scares me more than the orange one

The Tory party have more seats in the HOC than the rest of the other parties put together no wonder there a factions within it, its massive.
CP your spot on, the last democrat in the WH did FA for 8 yrs, the contrast between obama & Trump couldn't be more stark. I agree, no amount of media hype will halt another Trump victory.

End talks.. walk away.Any deal with Brussels at this point will be bad news for Brexit. Brussels (Germany) needs our money and the power to control UK .. Brussels do not see UK as a partners but a colony.

President Donald Trump has announced he is leaving hospital today, tweeting that he is "feeling really good".He told Americans not to let concern about the coronavirus "dominate your life"."I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M," he said."Feeling really good! Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!"

Getting concerned that under a COVID smokescreen Boris will capitulate and allow extension after extension meaning we'll remain shackled to the EU. Fear chicanery and sleight of hand to make it look like we've left when we haven't.

No deal.

The Tories are already split. Have been for ages.

Time to realise that and get on with their long overdue divorce rather than dragging the whole of Europe into their break-up.

If Doris tries to pull a fast one. He will effectively split the tories.

Just like treeza, it will be his death warrant. His premiership will be over.

Perhaps he is prepared to pay the price?
