My toms are coming up great. First time i've grown them for yonks was last year, after several years of them getting blight (everyone's around here, such a cruel disease, just on the day you want to pick them, they develop horrible flat brown areas). A mate got a blight free variety, and they emerged blight free and i got given a few of his crop. Saved the seeds last year and got a great blight free crop. Same again this year from seeds saved from last years crop. Planted in Halos, which are amazing.

'Grateful for the time in the garden personally.
Am well ahead of schedule this year. :)'

Yes, gardens looking great, however struggling to get some 'tumbling tom' tomato plants and some pea seeds, ordered some ages ago, still waiting.

"US intelligence warned of Cataclysmic Coronavirus ciris as impeachment dominated headlines"

If only the US intelligence community hadn't gone to war with Trump "six ways from Sunday," and were instead operating in alignment with the sitting President, this emerging threat would have been dealt with sooner.

Perhaps if the NSC and the Democrats hadn't been distracted with a partisan boondoggle to remove Trump, measures could have been taken earlier to better prepare America from the emerging threat.

think my average is @ 31p only got back to shares very recently, was fed up of having cash doing precisely nothing in my accounts, hence long term, every time i get an 'excess' i will put it somewhere, will start looking again once this whole CV19 is gone.

aljm my average is now 72p which seems a lot now but a relatively short time ago it was not far away. 6 monthe time is anyone's guess, my hope is that dividends will be reinstated in the not too distant future which will have a beneficial effect on Lloyds share price
BTW it took a long time to get my average down to 72p and really less than that if taking into account the divis received.
Good luck in your ventures.

mr elbee, because if they provided us with the solution it would open up the likelyhood that we could detect how they came across it so quickly.

936 souls lost their life over the last 24 hours here in the UK. We need all the help we can get from any country, but I am not looking to China for the solution.

Return of the Land Army: 26,000+ Britons Sign up to Pick Fruit and Vegetables

Over 26,000 people have responded to a call for agricultural workers, weeks after the industry warned a lack of immigrants caused by the coronavirus epidemic would leave vegetables rotting in the fields.

Britain’s agricultural industry has long been sustained by migrant labour, doing jobs bosses argued that Britons did not want to do. Yet that article of faith among proponents of mass migration appears to have been shattered, as the unwanted arrival of coronavirus has closed the United Kingdom’s borders to large movements of migrant workers — forcing recruiters to look inwards.

no chance of any foreign ideas or powers helping us.

Ferguson and Whitty want to be the golden boys and they will oppose any help

I hope they sleep well at night.

I hope the government aren't so proud to accept help from China in fighting Covid 19 . We may have the best health service in the world but the Chinese seem to know better than anyone else how to dealt with this virus.

Strange price action this afternoon, FTSE virtually always mirrors the DJ, however we tracked them with the fall but seem to have missed out the tracking their subsequent rise part of it !!!

Talking of some engineering going on...the travel of the virus from East then to Europe then to West in an orderly manner..."

Just follow the timeline of flights out of China around CNY.
To Northern Italy, to Canada,UK and US.
Ditto Iranians, who were still flying into UK and Canada last week!!
No health checks at port of disembarkation whatsoever.
