Now, nearly a month after the country went into lockdown, Italy is sending another warning. The economy is in trouble, bound for a major contraction. And the precariously situated workers — self-employed, seasonal, informal — are suffering the most. It’s not clear how much longer they can survive.

With thanks to the New York Times

Sell in May and go away is not for me.. not for my long holdings but I do trade too and looking for opportunities all the time.I don't think this is one of them.. not yet.I have a target and will wait for it.

rosePosted April 7, 2020 at 11:43 am | PermalinkI am sorry to say this wasn't a shock to me. A deep upset, but not a shock. He was evidently ill in the House of Commons and when he first announced the curfew that Monday evening. But he was working so hard he probably didn't notice. Once confined to no 11, one had to watch helplessly as he grew visibly worse. It was only a matter of time. None of this is a surprise when one considers what he has been through since his resignation over Chequers. There has been no let up at all. Even the winter holiday which was begrudged him by so many, was interrupted. How can he have had any resistance left, especially working an 18 hour day? Those who called him a part-time PM when he has been the most frenetically driven one we have had since Mrs T, have a lot to answer for. Trump had better keep them all praying as there is so much malevolence here to counter.

My perception is you will have high prices by May20. I am not sure sell in May and go away will hold this time as pandemic will be peaked by May20 and market will stabilise. .

Chris, remember prices very rarely go in a straight line. this has done @ 4p in two days, with no news, when sentiment comes back and maybe a little news, this should retrace fast,

They may say the truth, they may not. If his condition is serious this will have big effect on us all and FTSE. He is proven he is the ONE taking UK forward the future. I would love to hear he is out of danger.
