We're all up and down 20% every week, it's hardly anything unusual these days. I doubt there are many pi investors doing well out of the measures to tackle covid. The big gainers are the massive finance firms who can both sell shares in quantity an short in quantity and, with a bit of cooperation from others of the same ilk, are probably up a few hundred billion.

Would love to take up a few LLOY, but these are unprecedented times for me and the knock-on effect on LLOY I can't hope to assess.

Never have I seen so many companies ditching their divis. Ok, some of that might be CEOs/FDs using the virus as an excuse for taking action that they should have taken some time ago - but didn't want to be held responsible for - but even WEIR (not held) has ditched theirs, for example.

Made a few bob on the fluctuations, but staying out for a while now.

The issue of the day for Lloyds is what happens to the dividends - will they be paid or not? Would Ords be impacted or both the Ords and the Prefs? If so, big falls still to come.

Version II - for the uptickers of #108 - Lloyds dividends in 2020 likely to triple the payout. Lol
(Apologies - could not resist that).

UI - do you only want to read positive posts? Lloyds has been a disaster for any long term holder. I, for one, like to read both positive and negative posts.

He sold and shorted last thing and forgot to post.

People who suddenly spring up and say 'up 20%, told ya' usually post such stuff because it's and extremely rare position they find themselves in and they aren't used to it.

Coronavirus home-testing kits to check if individuals have ever had the virus could be available via Amazon or Boots within weeks, health chiefs have said. Following warnings that the outbreak is likely to peak around Easter, senior officials laid out plans to ramp up testing of NHS staff, patients and the wider British public.Daily Telegraph

"Hard Brexit to follow folks."

Hope so, having survived project fear and hopefully the virus too, hard Brexit will be like a tea party.

Minerve: "Perhaps we could start with wealth equality because current massive inequality kills people. If you want that you have the wrong government in place."

Wealth equality will never happen. If you walk down a street and give £100 each to the first 10 people you come across, some will spend it in the bookies, some in the pub, some both, others might pay off some or all debt and one, maybe, might invest it or at least put on deposit.

I know what you are saying but at pure deaths on the roads in the UK it is about 1900. 30,000 by pneumonia I think.

I guess the main thing is that the NHS isn't setup to cope with this spike of new cases - hence the lockdown idea.

Hard not to be cynical here. Deaths per mln in the uk 24. If it gets bad like italy 127 per million. So around 7000. The lockdown is effectively saving in addition some of the 27000 that get hit by cars and either die or who have serious injury per year. But thats ok.

Something missing in the news today. How many official new cases and deaths today? Ok I know the numbers are all over the place, but that isnt going to plan now is it!
