23/3/2020 22:32 | OK, not sure how to explain this. On the worldometer site the graph reflecting deaths and recoveries as a percentages of total cases is interesting.. Its reflecting 135 discharges and 335 deaths, so not looking good. Numbers started to pick up on the 7/8 March, 14 days ago, it was still in the 10s of people. We are now 14 days later, these people should now be getting discharged, so the percentage numbers showing for this graph should start swinging to the positive outcome. If we can keep lock down, max daily cases around 1000 and that start to decline rapidly, we might get through this with a low death outcome. On the whole I am with Pierre on this, the numbers are not validating the action compared to other social issues. I guess we are scared of what it potentially could be, not what it is at the moment, and nobody wants to take the risk at any cost. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. | ![]() 1carus
23/3/2020 22:27 | Minny, believe it or not, the whole approach the gov are taking is being driven by the wrong imperative, only no polytechnic brain will ever be able to understand the explanation, let alone the actual substance. The imperative 'we must not overload the nhs AT ANY COST' is wrong. Obviously wrong. Nothing should be done AT ANY COST. The cost should always be less than the benefits. | pierre oreilly

23/3/2020 22:22 | So can we say all the bad news regarding job loses , redundancies, closures, manufacturing numbers , sentiment numbers to come and Covid 19 deaths have all been factored in now? Is it going to bump along the bottom here until we hear the numbers going down or of a cure or a vaccine? Anyone like to call this the bottom in other words ? | ![]() mitchy

23/3/2020 22:11 | Diku, yes. So what? Doesn't the virus spread between family members? I can no longer officially see my children, probably like most on here. Why can i see them at funerals? | pierre oreilly
23/3/2020 22:08 | Minny, I don't want to live a life like you, lonely, no friends, no visits from family, nothing except computer games and playing Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde on bbs. You've probably had 50 years practice, it's all new to me. Quality of life needs to be considered. I'll give it 3 days before everyone else agrees with me. Except you of course. | pierre oreilly

23/3/2020 21:36 | Can't gather at all. Except at funerals, because the virus doesn't spread at funerals. Can't visit anyone who doesn't live in your home. Except vulnerable people. The virus, paradoxically, doesn't spread to or from vulnerable people. Can't leave the house. Except to join hundreds of other in close proximity raiding supermarkets. It doesn't spread in supermarkets. As well as the nonsense of it all, after 3 days of reasonable compliance, there'll be mass civil disobedience as everyone realises the cure i worse than the disease. This really is madness on a suicidal scale, literally. I'll be going to my allotment, which is obviously within the spirit of the mesures but not in the actual list of non-naughty places, and if Mr plod approaches me with a fine i'll walk away to socially distance myself. I don't intend to live a life hardly worth living. | pierre oreilly

We should all have to pay our fair share for what it has cost. I hope that no one complains or tries to avoid paying their fair share so that we can pay of the money borrowed. .. At least the NHS will be a much better system after it all | sentimentrules
