It's an idle sunday afternoon so I thought i'd lay out some thoughts on lloys position.

Reasons why the lloy share price might continue down.

1.Brexit Deal isn't agreed and we leave on WTO rules. Why the market is afraid of such a scenario I don't ,as yet ,understand. Many successful business men have said they don't have a problem with it.To be fair just as many have said they want a deal in place by 2021.
2. Covid 19 may simply go on spreading. It's very infectious and companies have already reported a slowing of production because of Chinese supply problems.
3. World economy was slowing ahead of the virus. Even Germany are on the verge of an official recession. The rise in electric cars has caught them by surprise and all the suppliers to them have,as a knock on effect, are finding a really tough market.
4. The U.S market is saturated and needs to 'adjust'. The Trump effect has run it's course in my opinion. As we all know when the US sneezes the rest of us all get a cold.
5. The results did highlight that there was a 7% drop in overall profits when ppi's were taken out of the equation.
6. There are still unresolved legal claims connected with the HBOS acquisition

Reasons for the share price to rise.
1. Robust home market. We have been effected by the wider market but, as yet , not as serious as Europe.
2. House prices are rising because of the Boris getting Brexit 'done' . Also American money has been coming over the pond because they see the market over there as being over bought but the UK as under bought.
3. Companies are coming into the UK and taking office space here ahead of an eventual deal. The UK is very well placed to access both the EU and US markets
4.As we wont be bleeding money away to the blood sucking EU of £400,000,000 a week there should be room for more public projects or even , dare I say it , Tax Cuts !
5. Increased dividens with a commitment to make that a priority.
6. A news of the replacement CEO with a good reputation is going add X %
7. Next years results are definitely going to be better than 2019. Just a question of how much better.

With the Yanks paying $80/ppv. British fans calls for Fury vs Joshua to take place at Wembley will be ignored. Fury will continue to fight in the USA until his contractual obligations with TopRank / Bob Arum have been met.

So some Scots want to speak Gaelic and some English want to go fishing in certain waters....

Personally I see no difference between the two. At least the Scots were not wanting to leave over such trivial issues.

Re. 770.

"In October 2009, a new agreement was made which allows Scottish Gaelic to be used formally between Scottish Government ministers and European Union officials. The deal was signed by Britain's representative to the EU, Sir Kim Darroch, and the Scottish government. This does not give Scottish Gaelic official status in the EU, but gives it the right to be a means of formal communications in the EU's institutions. The Scottish government will have to pay for the translation from Gaelic to other European languages."

Which, as previously said, is another example of bureaucratic madness - 1% of Scots speak Scottish Gaelic. Just surprised that some left-wing loonies haven't pushed for Punjabi to be used by UK MEPs.
