John Thomas 20 Feb 2020 7:55PMWhat I find fascinating is that the EU has no free trade agreement with China, but so many European companies are dependent on trade with them. It seems that just in time supply chains from China can work (coronavirus notwithstanding), but the English Channel presents an insuperable barrier.I canalso find no mention anywhere of China having to play on a level playing field in terms of labour laws, workers' rights and state subsidies.Funny old world.Daily Telegraph

K38.. football causes 100k journeys everyweekend, The carbon footprint of football is huge world wide. RE should try to block the transport links to the major games if they want to be heard. Not to mention social expense for policing. Its a crime against humanity.

mitchy : your post 432 ..I agree . We are beginning to see the green shoots to support share price recovery . i also think the March Budget will be positive fo the banks. I'm so pleased for you bearing in mind your holding having been purchased at higher SPs . Patience is definitely virtuous when it comes to Lloyds !

Alph : Thanks for posting such a balanced find. Augurs well.

Bounce tomorrow, been in a downtrend for a while, takes a while for stock like this to break the trend! Chief should have stated that buyback would restart as soon as prudent, got to feed little titbits, keeps the scribes guessing!

Boris has more serious problems to deal with right now than holding hands of a complaining idiot

So quarterly divi is to take place; 3 quarterly dividends, each of 20% of previous full year dividend with the final being announced at final results day. Based on previous year divi being 3.37p then interim dividends are going to be 0.674p in June, Sept and Dec.

The June interim payment will follow a final dividend late in the previous month of 2.25p. So within a few weeks between end of May and June shareholders will collect 2.924p / share.

That will give (ignoring a few weeks) a return of 5.2% just for holding the shares for a short time between final ex-divi and first interim ex-divi dates.

I might be wrong, but I can see these being bought up by institutional income funds. Could this rise to 66p - 70p in a a few weeks time?????

Also, what has Boris promised Antonio? During the presentation this morning he (Antonio) inferred that the budget on 11th March would benefit Lloyds!
