18/2/2020 19:50 | ....xy I personally support the return of the Elgin Marbles and the last paragraph (barely recognisable) it's a lie. I've seen them. I've been to their museum in Acropolis I must say it's the best. EDIT: By the way.. Greece was under occupation when Lorl Elgin remove the marbles by paying the Turks a few thousands. His workers do more damage to the Marbles by removing them from their original places. SUPPORT THEM RETURN TO THEIR ORIGINAL PLACE, WHERE THEY BELONG. Alan Green18 Feb 2020 7:26PM The Elgin Marbles were not only acquired lawfully they were saved by their removal to the UK. Lord Elgin took casts of many of those marbles that remained in Greece and these casts can also be seen at the British Museum and can be compared with what remains of the originals today and the pieces left in Greece are barely recognisable. | k38 | |

18/2/2020 19:34 | Finian Manson18 Feb 2020 6:02PMThe Elgin Marbles have nothing to do with trade but if they want to conflate issues as they have with Gibralter then we say revoke the Treaty of Utrecht and its associated Treaties and return Naples and Sicily for example to Spain and give Catalonia its freedom from Spain as well as returning Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourgh (The Spanish Netherlands) to Spain. We could also tell them to return Greece and most of the Balkans to the gates of Vienna for centuries to Turkey as the Turks ruled itAlan Green18 Feb 2020 7:26PMThe Elgin Marbles were not only acquired lawfully they were saved by their removal to the UK.
