Market report:

...Lloyds was among the FTSE 100's main casualties after it emerged that Spanish competitor Santander's UK operation was suffering as a result of intense competition in the mortgage market.

Shares in the bank, the UK's largest purveyor of home loans, fell 2.6 per cent, or 1.6p, to 58.74p.

What you see is what you get
You made your bed, you better lie in it
You choose your leaders and place your trust
As their lies puts you down and their promises rust
You'll see kidney machines replaced by rockets and guns
And the public wants what the public gets
But I don't get what this society wants

Well Flybe could be going down the tubes....

WOW, under the Tories we have never had it so good.

Never mind, the blue rinse brigade have long since needed to travel. The furthest they go is to the local pound shop, golf club or hairdresser.

This is utopia isn't it folks.

We have a pocket full of rainbows and oh such a beautiful blue sky to put them in.

50p it's far too low unless there's a good reason.

At this moment, in my opinion without any news, the share price react to the gaps at 62p and 54p respectively.

Bloody hell Boabby, you are going to have to stop cutting and pasting these essays. 'Brevity is the Soul of wit' or as Chekhov wrote 'The Sister of Talent.

It would have been easier to say, the brilliant, talented and wise politician Alister Jack said Westminster will not grant a Section 30 order to remove legal barriers to such a vote in Nicola Sturgeon’s lifetime, saying her party will have to wait until “a generation or a lifetime has passed” to ask the public again.

The comments triggered a huge response, leading Jack to become the number one trending topic on Scottish Twitter and as many as 60% of canny Scots agreeing with Alister.

Bob tbh I think hes got a point regarding pledges that a vote for unionism would ensure membership of the EU. Unfortunately it's not worked out the way it was anticipated. In many respects the plight of the Nationalists is very similar to that of leave. If you examine the time line and effort which went into leave, (the seeds were sown in 1974) I think if nothing else you will get a more realistic idea of what's going to be required to get your plight over the line. The difference between the Nationalists & leave is that leave didn't blow their one an only chance of a referendum & the main reasons for that was credible personel & cross party commitment to Brexit & cracks appearing in the EU project at an opportune moment.
IMO the SNP lack credibility & leadership they need to take a long look at themselves, theres no shortcut to getting a 2nd referendum until they get more support it's just a waste of everyone's time m8. NB, I'm sorry that a few home truths have to be levelled at Scotland & the SNP but the union doesn't revolve around Scotland irrespective of how hard you stamp your feet.

Not looking good now. Market up but lloy down 2.6% so im expecting more down side for the rest of the week perhaps but one never knows with lloy It could easily spike up on positive news. Just can't think what that might be at the moment. Could we see 50 p again ? Think I'll hold off adding again just in case we do.

Monty is always negative when he's looking for an entry point.

The reverse is also true - always ramping when looking for the exit.

Rate cut when base rate is at 0.75% is useless
It's just talk for now by BOE to keep gilt rates and sterling under control

Government and central banks will go down the fiscal expansion route. Monetary policy has run out of road. Follow the Trump doctrine.
