Madame Brexit called an election two years ago to win a big majority for her hard, Tory Brexit but voters rejected this by voting against her.

A major part of the core Conservative vote, i.e. the elderly, rejected proposals that would hit them in the pocket. Boris won't make that mistake.

And who the hell might Madame Brexit be? Not that evil old hag who fought against real Brexit, surely?

Jacko - you missed the Pride and Shark debate the other day. Much more interesting than Art 50 today. Do you know anything about the BMW 1150's btw?

Another nutcase wanting that the UK will not be able to change the " boris deal"...…. for the next 25 years.

Lucky that it is not a good deal as you would be asking for 250 years.

ROFLMAO

"Haven't a clue Alphorn, well above my 'pay grade', just a humble man from the plains trying to make a few bob lol".

Why do you write that stuff then cheshire??? Even more concerning is that you are supported by other posters who do not have a clue either. Highlights why these times are so dangerous. Making it up as you go along.

In the deal must include that.. UK will not be able to change the " boris deal" neither to apply again for customs union or single market membership the next 25 years.By that time the world will be a lot different.

@Peston
It is very clear to me that Labour and other opposition parties will block @BorisJohnson’s 12 December election. So goodness knows what happens. “Taking back control” is what one senior opposition figure just said to me

Lib Dems against an election. Greens against. Unity holding. Labour MPs saying they’ll vote against.

So this election attempt presumably a gambit to convince the EU to offer a shorter extension and embarrass Labour.

Let’s just take a moment to think about Boris Johnson’s “do or die” promise that the UK would leave the EU on 31 October.

This evening’s call for a general election on 12 December is his first admission that he will not deliver on the pledge he said he’d rather “be dead in a ditch” than break.
