Well Barclays booked a "GBP1.4 billion PPI charge" in their Q3 announced this morning.
Plenty of chancers getting rewarded.

mm2 - visited a huge display near Fribourg (?) amazing how it covered all the different sceneries; ports, towns to the alps.

ALP,
Personally I have all those but many people will be unaware of passport regulations requiring an extended period until renewal

Well, no problem with Boris having a full No Deal objective but he really should come clean with the voters and stop pretending he is searching for a deal. The guy is a coward as well as a charlatan because he knows No Deal doesn't hold the greatest mandate. Smoke, mirrors and fudge.

cm - passport duration, (potentially) motor insurance cards plus medical (who knows?).
edit: ownership of vehicle papers if applicable.

Taking no deal off the table = remain in EU. Boris won't do that. Therefore no GE.

On the way down from N.Wales yesterday to France for some Xmas goodies . Stopped at Cherwell Valley services and diagnosed terminal air conditioning unit.So back home on a recovery truck, seems weird to have an empty garage. The motorways are full of illuminated signs telling drivers to be ready for new documentation if travelling to EU,I can only think that it must be directed at HGV drivers .Anyone here know different?

You are wrong, Corbyn has said previously he will have a GE when No Deal is taken off the table - that would also include the likely sinister goings on which may happen in December 2020.

Opposition aren't stupid and neither are some of the moderate Tories.

... the government insisted it was prepared to block any other business until an early poll is agreed.

Sounds good. Over a century ago an MP said, we cannot go on adding to the statute book forever - but they will keep passing all these laws, 99% of them harmful.

Corbyn has stated he would only call a VONC or agree a GE when he thinks he can win, fair enough. Well there could be a long wait then till 2022. What can he point to in the interim that would swing the polls his way, nothing comes to mind.

Yes Poikka: Boris dividing and ruling the EU. The 3 years with May we were dancing to Tusk and Barnier's tune. Things have changed, watch them start arguing and disagreeing over extension(s).
See if the BBC report it as it happens or, more likely, sanitise it as 'sweet harmony within the EU'.

Leave no deal 31st still possible.

Poika - not reported as such with the foreign media that I have read. IMO it has gone past tactics and is a result of the infighting within No 10 and Labour.
To say, today, all 'tactics' dismisses the issues too easily.

Disgraceful bullyboy tactics that are being observed and noted by much of the electorate.

Just remember only c90,000 voted this cretin in as PM.

Poika - "Wouldn't risk my money on a bet". Agree, could go either way; markets are not flinching (yet).
As I posted before this is one time that I would be pleased to be on the wrong side. (i.e. no No Deal).

BBC

"On Thursday, Mr Johnson reiterated he did not want a delay but his preferred option if one was granted was for it to be short, "say to 15 or 30 November"."

What he's saying to Brussels is: if you back my short delay you're listening to me; if you back the long delay to end 1/20, you're backing the Parliament rebels.

Wouldn't risk my money on a bet, personally, because Macron, wanting a short extension, is at loggerheads with other EU leaders over the way forward for the EU - Maastricht and Lisbon, or not.

The rumour that I posted last night has become fact as Javid confirmed earlier this morning that the budget scheduled for 6 November would be cancelled.

The kindergarten is open again today.

"Stand firm Boris, the electorate can see what is going on and will back you"

At least half of the electorate don't like Boris. You shouldn't be so loose with your comments.

Good point maxk. Got me thinking. Boris can play the long game till 2022 in extremis. Boris can't and won't take no deal Brexit off the table, Corbyn can't and won't agree to an election unless he does. So that leaves the EU. If the French prevail and we get an extension till mid-Nov., only 2 weeks and still stalemate, then January, then what a further extension? None of this will be good for the EU, one of the 27 will eventually crack and veto any further extension and we'll be out no deal. Stand firm Boris, the electorate can see what is going on and will back you, when they eventually get the opportunity lol.
