The problem scruff1, is that just as common sense has arrived in the USA, so we have just lumbered ourselves with a far far left Marxist/Fascist intent on giving the country away to an army of looters!
I find it interesting that Trump makes out that he is on friendly terms with Starmer, when Starmer sent 100 apparatchiks to fight against him in the election!
Revenge would be Trump unearthing some grubby secret about Starmer and blasting it across the media. I notice the media is not making a big deal about Starmer breaking the lock down rules by hiring a personal speaking coach. |
Trump will not be allowed to close down the DEI. He overrates his power as president. The legal system will clip his wings.
Trump dare not take on the military either. Would he dare to criticise Israeli military action?
America is an odd country where Multi Billionaires are treated as heroes whilst almost 100m citizens own nothing. An election gives no choice of real change, both are rich mens parties.
Musk will be sidelined as well. He is extreme right wing, no doubt we must note that he grew up in South Africa.
Trump will soon be ignored and treated as a loose unstable cannon. |
I often wonder how arja has the brain capacity to know how to breathe. |
Bernie Sanders, the Pete Seeger of politics, good for writing lyrics for Sunday school songs, left one feeling purged without purpose! |
Starmer purposelessness! said things can only get worse, before......before what? The Iron Lady, had promises to keep and delivered consistently! |
wow , Bernie Sanders is really a wonderful man and everything that comes out of his mouth is sensible and true . I know Scruff1 will agree with me or he will when he eventually comes to his senses in years ahead . But sadly no hope for Min Pong as he has very little between the ears . |
Agree with your last post scruff. We need good government.
I do not get worked up about broken promises. They tell lies to get your vote. nice to be in power. Snake oil salesmen the whole lot of them.
There is one thing that worries me, that is the need for smart tactical voting. You voted Reform which was obviously going to let Labour in. I voted Tory despite the shambles they caused, including unlimited immigration. I could see what the indulgence of voting Reform would do.
It is no more that a simple game of chess. You made a sucker move. You may have the same decision in 4 years time but `I suspect the Tories and Reform may have to join forces. Other wise a hung parliament.
You cannot rule out the chance Labour may improve. Thatcher started very badly at 25% approval and went on to in 3 elections. |
By the way. The lad was in San Francisco. He was shocked by the drugs. He said they were everywhere. Biden/Starmer - Donald. ? Lets see. |
I was watching that Batman film The Dark Knight last night.
Great movie, but a bit far-fetched.
There's no way people in real life would support some obvious lunatic with a bizarre hairstyle and makeup, who just aims to bring out the very worst in everyone and pit them against one another... |
Starmer is in a tricky position. He will have to choose America or EU.
Trying to keep both onside at the moment.
I was a remainer, I liked the fact that we could veto any EU. law that we did not like, and we kept our own currency.
Cynics argue that we only joined in the 1970's because it suited our paymasters, America. If you read your history you know that we were turned down at first because De Gaull thought that we were too subservient to America. Now America wants us out again.
The Boris Johnsons and Farages seem to be on the `US payroll, I always wonder about those things.
Whatever the shortcomings of this Labour government, on this one issue I am glad that we are not full in with America. We need to be independent. We need to get on with both groups.
Trump will be history in 4 short years, probably less, he will be a lame duck after year 3. |
Cheers M2 appreciated. Will give it a whirl but could be beyond my limited boiler knowledge.Tricky - can't have 55% of 1 |
min pong , you again show how ignorant you are your comment . The indoctrinated brexiteers voted for many different things you idiot as did the Tory MPs, eg Theresa May was a PRETEND remainer whose worst nightmare was continuing freedom of movement and this would have meant staying in the Customs Union and the Single Market . it was why she fought so hard against a PV being a kind of 2nd referendum. I think your IQ is too low to grasp these things. |
Min Pong , the truth ? LOL ! How gullible you are and you would believe the earth was flat if Farage or Trump told you it was :) . Give your little brain some exercise by using it occasionally . |
Military operation in Ukraine 3 Feb, 07:13
Russian forces dislodging Ukrainian troops near Krasnoarmeisk, says DPR head
Especially tense battles are raging near the settlement of Dachnoye in the Kurakhovo direction, Denis Pushilin noted
MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. Russian forces are dislodging the Ukrainian battlegroup from the frontline on the outskirts of Krasnoarmeisk (called Pokrovsk by Ukraine), DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) Head Denis Pushilin said during a live broadcast on the Rossiya-24 television channel on Monday.
"In the Krasnoarmeisk direction, the [Russian] troops are gradually pushing the enemy forces out of the outskirts of Krasnoarmeisk and wedging into its defenses," the regional head said.
Especially tense battles are raging near the settlement of Dachnoye in the Kurakhovo direction, he added. |
An example of policy for Farage to consider. I would love someone to ask him a simple question. (He never answers)
In todays situation would he roll over and do exactly as Trump demands. And would he hostile to the EU. as Trump would wish?
It is a big question, and would we be happy with his almost certain position of abandoning the EU.and siding with Trump on every issue?
The electorate are supposed to be 25% in favour of Reform ahead of both Labour and the Tories according to todays poll. Yet at the same time 55% vs 45% think that leaving the EU. was a mistake. |
He doesnt tell people what they want to hearHe tells people the truth Idiot |
Thatcher employed a voice coach who taught her to lower her voice. Blair employed actor Kevin Spacey to improve his presentation.
It takes a while and much effort to become a great orator. Starter comes over as being boring right now, he will improve.
Nigel ahead in the polls according to todays polls is a master of communication.
He is loud, clear and tells people what they want hear. A true master. A master of simple solutions complicated problems. He understands the mentality of the UK public. A great man in opposition, gives them a hard time. |
![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) Just a comment about harmer and hermer by Charles Moore in DT People are right to focus on Starmer the human rights lawyer. His background is both his greatest strength – because he achieved career success in this important subject – and his greatest problem – because it is the key to his misunderstanding of politics. This misunderstanding took human shape when Sir Keir ennobled his old friend Richard Hermer and made him Attorney General. It was the signal that Sir Keir believes in a global, rights-based, judge-enforced perfection which takes precedence over parliamentary democracy and the nation state. Lord Hermer is, in effect, Sir Keir’s conscience – the voice of what the Prime Minister really thinks but dare not so openly say.
Under this Government, therefore, this un-British approach to the rule of law will stay, hamstringing ministerial action. But even if Sir Keir were – Heaven forfend! – to resign, the problem would not disappear, because it is systemic, not just personal. Any opposition party seeking to improve matters should offer a full alternative. If the Conservatives do not do so, Reform assuredly will. |
