Reading the article, it sounds as though the amount of damages hasn't yet been decided despite the clickbait headline.

“We now look forward to the arbitral tribunal rendering the Award in due course. GreenX has claimed up to £737m in damages..."

To give him his due, 375k shares is a reasonable amount at least.

On the other hand, seeing @someuwin's post above, it looks like insider trading! We should sue, anyone know a good litigation management co?

Specto- hindsight is 20:20 as they say. I read it as : he sees the stock as being cheap at 110p and even better value at 70p. I concur with him and am reassured by his stake building because i imagine he has a better handle on what is going on than i do. Or Maybe we’re both/ all wrong!

GreenX Metals up 43%+ on their arbitration claim news.

LIT who are funding the claim (and could potentially get a third of the £740m) have not even RNS'd the news - yet.

@hpcg - yes, fair point. Was somewhat tongue-in-cheek ;)

I think the outcome delay is an even bigger effect than the (minimum) doubling of discount rates - & so far seems little sign of things speeding up.

I note yet another large Chairman's share purchase reported this morning - he's shown poor judgement in his prices so far, let's hope he does better with this one.

SpectoAcc - on a more serious note there is a reason for that IMO, high interest rates are bad for the discount model. This coupled with the case settlement turnaround makes the returns a lot less attractive, potentially not attractive at all. It is the returns from winning case that are not correlated with equity markets.

Just for the record:

Litigation Capital Management Limited (AIM:LIT), a leading international alternative asset manager of disputes financing solutions, announces that on 25 November 2022 Jonathan Moulds, Chairman of the Company, purchased 375,000 ordinary shares in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 69.52 pence per Ordinary Share.

Following the above purchase, Mr Moulds has an interest in 3,575,000 Ordinary Shares, which represents 3.0 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company.

Our Chairman Jonathan Moulds has added again. He has made 9 or maybe 10 purchases in the last 12 months at prices ranging between 70p and 105p and now holds 3.575m shares i.e. 3% of the company.
As Chairman, he is very close to what is happening and is clearly a pretty wealthy , well connected person. Fair to assume he knows what he is doing.
I see this as a huge BUY signal.

🤞🏻✊️with the amount of funded cases in play now and the passing of time we must be getting near a point of inflection where we start to harvest the returns.once that starts it should keep going so long as their success rate and rate of returns stay on track.

GreenX Metals v Poland
LCM funded the GreenX Claim under a US$12.3 million Litigation Funding Agreement

Arbitration Hearing Claims Against Poland Now Completed.
Now waiting on Award decision.
There is no specified date for an Award to be rendered.

Big potential payout based on the funded amount...so we just wait....

LIT claim to be uncorrelated to equity markets, and I think I've now watched them for long enough to agree that's the case.

If the market goes up, LIT goes sideways or down. If the market goes down, LIT goes sideways or down. ;)

From GreenX Metals (was Prairie Mining) Quarterly activities report today.

International arbitration claims against the Republic of Poland under both the Energy Charter Treaty and the Australia-Poland Bilateral Investment Treaty continue at pace:

o Statement of Reply for ongoing arbitration against Poland has been filed with a revised claim for compensation in the amount of £737 million (A$1.3 billion/PLN 4.0 billion) as prepared by external quantum experts.

o Claim includes an updated assessment of the value of GreenX's lost profits and damages related to both the Jan Karski and Debiensko mines, and accrued interest related to any damages.

o Following the lodgement of final substantive filings from both parties subsequent to the end of the quarter, the next step in the arbitration process is for the hearing to be conducted in front of the Tribunal.

o GreenX notes the recent success of AIM listed, Rockhopper Exploration plc's Energy Charter Treaty claim against the Republic of Italy in relation to oil and gas licenses including a unanimous decision against the Republic of Italy to award €190 million in damages plus interest.

Someuwin- given LIT run the merits of a any claim past a team of associated barristers before takin the case on(ie agreeing to fully fund it), and given LIT historically win 97% of cases, then I think we can be sure the claim will have plenty of merit. However, 3% of claims are unsuccessful, so nothing is guaranteed. GLA

As the cases conclude within the funds, does the money get re invested (which would grow the fund) or get paid out?
