20/2/2023 11:23 | I have just seen this post from our revered founder on a completely different thread, (Ediston Property) some time ago. Good on him, I say...... Johnwig 2 Aug '22 - 11:30 - 1254 of 1434 0 4 0 Oh hello speccy and Winnie (BTW where is bradfordwig?). I'm feeling great, just sold one of my USA properties (Naples FL 34108 Gulfshore) stonking market currently, $16m! Bought it 5 years ago for $5m, spent $1m, and in the meantime had great times there with family. As you know I have never had to pay CGT on any of my share profits,(sic, lol) over the last 24 years (everything in PEPS and ISAs about which you know nothing of course). Different story in the USA though. On completion they force you to pay a large wodge into escrow against your potential gains calcs, 20% max. Still joyful, though. One day one or both of you might make a bob or two on your little REITS. Having seen all your posts over the years you should not hold your breath.... I prefer the real (geddit?) thing. P.S. I've just repatriated some of my profits. Great timing eh? Got 83p sterling for each dollar. Hey Ho. | trollwatch
20/2/2023 10:49 | I think you'll find your supposed "troll" (whose name you imitate!) actually posted on this board regarding the Poland case prior to LCM's announcement. Regarding the Comet truck case there is a potential spanner in the works, although I can't imagine it will be successful. hxxps://www.supremec | scubadiverr
20/2/2023 09:37 | Very good news, I'd say! | kallistos
20/2/2023 09:28 | Brad_K - not just on ADVFN.Investegate, too, is missing some content (but that's not unusual). This is a companion RNS with more general news: | jonwig
20/2/2023 09:24 | Old jonwig 'omitted' to mention this second announcement by LIT. Sounds like pretty good news to me! | johnwig
20/2/2023 09:24 | NatWest shares and a surprise price movement hxxps://www.ii.co.uk | triktrak
20/2/2023 09:19 | Bigalan3, there seem to be some problems with the trading datas coming through to ADVFN this morning. | brad_k
20/2/2023 09:09 | TWO very encouraging announcements from this fine company: Only one linked by the troll on the 'other' thread. | johnwig
20/2/2023 08:16 | Cheers gk1. | brad_k
20/2/2023 08:10 | Is advn working today. | bigalan3
20/2/2023 08:08 | You are adding up the rev not the return | greenknight1
20/2/2023 08:07 | clearly a credibility issue. more skeletons in the closet to be discovered than an halloween episode of scooby doo. | purplepelmets
20/2/2023 07:59 | Maybe I Need some help with the maths, but how do they get a Gross Profit of 6.3m in the LCM column. Looks like 8.6m to me. | brad_k
20/2/2023 07:35 | The performance fee to LIT is great, but the actual fund return seems a bit paltry. | spectoacc
20/2/2023 07:28 | Nice to see the first resolution from the fund structure juicing the return for LCM | mighunter
20/2/2023 07:13 | Settlement of Carillion claim: 75% carried within a fund. | jonwig
17/2/2023 18:05 | With that and the Poland case we should be seeing some rather nice uplift in profits in the next updates | scubadiverr
17/2/2023 17:54 | "The settlement deal was confirmed by both sides on Friday but its terms were not disclosed. In its UK accounts for the financial year ending in September 2022, published this month, KPMG made a provision of £179mn to cover the cost of future fines and legal claims. The figure had risen from £92mn two years earlier despite the conclusion of several regulatory investigations since 2020." Interesting to re-read another FT article from the date the funding was announced; They were very dubious about whether the claim would succeed, well they have now been proven wrong - so it's a win for LIT and Carillion stakeholders. Based on the £179m they had provided for I'd expect this will provide a nice gain, but let's see if an RNS arrives... | 74tom
17/2/2023 16:07 | Yep. Thanks. More Good news in the air, this is signaling up some future profits. | robsy2
17/2/2023 15:53 | Of course KPMG want it kept confidential too... full co-operation with the ongoing FRC investigation speaks volumes. | mighunter
17/2/2023 15:12 | Thanks for the heads up re. carillion... RNS from May 2021; "The agreement to provide a litigation finance facility is to fund a claim in the Commercial Court of the High Court of Justice of England & Wales against the Carillion group's former auditors, KPMG. The claim arises from KPMG's conduct of its audits of the Group's financial statements. The losses which form the subject matter of the claim are expected to exceed £250 million." Sky News article from Feb 2022; "City sources said on Wednesday that the actual figure being sought by the OR was in the range of £1bn-£1.5bn, with one indicating that it was likely to be around £1.2bn." Always hard to say what we could expect from LIT but feels worth a punt from 65p... | 74tom |
